Public Service Announcment - RP's and Wiki Pages

Many of you have seen Mevans' latest blog post. He critisized the overuse of RP's on this wiki, and the underuse of the actual wiki content. To start with, I do not think that RP's should be removed, as they do bring more people here. However, all the people on the RP's need to do more than be on the RP's. Many of you would say that if you weren't on the RP's, you wouldn't be on the wiki. This is a perfectly valid concern, as I know that many of you would not know what to do if you weren't participating in RP's. I would like to have a solution to this problem. Much of the wiki is inconsistent, even with our greatest efforts to conform it. We need a system to tell wiki users what to do, and a way to harness all the energy we have on the RP's to other places.

Disclaimer: This post in no way is intended to put down RP's or say that you should not/can not use them. RP's give our Mods work. However, we would like to promote wiki use outside of the RP's, as they are currently getting more traffic than the suggestions forum.

I say we should make a page with all wiki pages that could use editing, allowing people to know what they should edit.

I'm already working on improving every single biomes page to my standard, but I have taken a break until school gets out. Please note that this is my project and I would prefer that everyone else left it alone.

I have done three RPs and it has quadrupled the "contributions" I've made. But I agree with Mevans and I do correct pages (mostly inconsistencies and mistakes), and I've made three suggestions as well as commenting on others.

So, recently there's been a debate going about what should be done regarding the fact that roleplays are occupying a lot of people's time on the wiki. I have something that may help! The Middle Earth Roleplay wiki!

This wiki was set up by our very own Auraestus a while back. It was in use for a while, but people started to migrate back here for roleplays. However, if it makes a revival, you can spend roleplaying time there, and more time helping the wiki here!

If we make knowledge of this more widely known, we might just have a good fix to the problem!

Well... Maybe we could have an RP requirement, for instance you must edit X pages before joining a new RP or whatever. A whole new wiki might be kinda, well, detracting from this one because everyone will just go over there.
