P.S I do not hate the mod if the above made it sound like I did. I just want the vanilla hate to stop.
P.S.S Sorry if you do not feel you are hating vanilla. I just feel that everyone does.
yeah, mevans adds more in a month than mojang adds in a year. #MEVANSFORMOJANGBOSS2016
Now, back on topic.
Could there be hobbit doggos? There are proven hobbit things, and the new doggo fan page.
Its quite boring and underdeveloped. 1.9 is an example of how lazy the devopers of mojang are. the bows are shit, there arent any humans, not much interaction with the current villagers, barely any weapons besides a sword or a bow, or an axe now. But the only credit i give them is making a base for this amazing mod. Lotr mod completely blows vanilla out of the water. Mevans, a college student who is doing this for free, is giving updates every few months, while mojang only gives updates once or twice a year. Notch has promised us an rpg-style game, and the fools dinnerbone and jeb failed after he left. This mod is what minecraft vanilla could be, and these lazy ass developers needs to take notes from this.
As far as I know, Notch did not promise that. Minecraft was always a sandbox game. Vanilla was never supposed to be "amazing." Vanilla was meant to be a sandbox game where you could build, go on adventures, and have fun. Vanilla was never supposed to be an RPG game. This mod is not what Minecraft vanilla could be because the LotR is trademarked and has copyright. The real fault with 1.9 is not the features of the update, as people rarely play single player vanilla anyways and play on servers way more. The real fault of Mojang right now is not understanding what players want. Mojang is giving lots of new aesthetic features, but not things that players wanted. In 1.9, players expected a good PvP system, instead what they got was a PvP system that only suited players who played single-player worlds, and not the PvP community. Players expected new weapon types. Players expected PvP to become more fun, not more boring and hard. You are blaming Mojang for the wrong things. You are blaming them for not adding RPG's and quests and all that stuff that Mojang never had an obligation to add in the first place. The reason mods exist is to add the things that Mojang would never have added themselves, mods such as the Twilight Forest serve a purpose to add mroe adventure to the game. Technology mods such as Thermal Expansion and Industrial Craft serve the purpose of adding technology that the base game developers would've never added themselves, and this mod, The Lord of the Rings mod serves the purpose of adding the world of J.R.R Tolkien to Minecraft. Minecraft has never had an obligation to add these things.
Stop blaming Mojang for things they never had to do.
xD Superhero you just got burned!

Im not saying "add orcs, dwarves and elves." Im saying that there are many things mojang can do that is practical, like add more animals. In 1.9, they had an oppurtunity to add more weapons to vanilla, but instead, they made it so you can use shovels and hoes as weapons. like seriously? Vanilla to me just seems so unecessarily empty. Not much civilization besides villagers, no knights to guard my castles. Not to mention all of these dumb mechanics, like making saddles uncraftable. I agree with you though. Mojang is adding all of the wrong things and not listening to what players want. Like that empty promise and teasing about red dragons.
Mystery, go back to making those "Facebook news" threads in the news and announcements boards that no one reads...

Mojang is adding animals though. They added Shulkers, Polar Bears, and Rabbits in the recent updates. I agree with the 1.9 combat stuff. 1.9 combat was extremely dissapointing. Except again I have to say this again. Mojang has no obligation to give you knights to guard your castle because that is not what Minecraft is. If you want Knights, go download a knight mod or something. Saddles being uncraftable to you may seem dumb, but to the creators at Mojang, they may find it completely ok. You are still complaining about nothing it seems. Let Mojang be Mojang, if you don't like Mojang or vanilla. Simply don't play vanilla. I think Minecraft is the only game where players utterly disrespect the creators of the game they are playing! Remember, you are still playing MINECRAFT.
