In a fight to the death, who do you guys think would win? LotR or Star Wars? I think LotR because of Eru and the Valar, and Sauron who cannot die without the Ring being destroyed. What do you guys think?

Quote: Not sure you understand the SCALE of the star wars galaxy. Thousands of planets, each as big or bigger than earth. No matter what Era of star wars - old republic, rupublic, empire, or first order- every group has millions of soldiers, blasters, and starships. Imagine this: A huge dwarven army, in battle phalanx, waiting for their enemy. Suddenly, a dozen dots on the horizon become several battle cruisers, each several thousand meters long and covered in weapons. A quick volley results in several thousand dwarven casualties, with hundreds of others fleeing in panic. Stormtroopers deployed from dropships sweep the rest of the dwarves from the field with a minamum of casualties. Boom, rinse and repeat. Or, you could simply nail all of Arda with an obital strike, wiping out all life on the surface in a matter of seconds.
Imagine this: after the dwarves run away, Sauron and Melkor come in and, despite how many times they are hit by gun fire, blown up by bombs (even a force bomb would not be enough to destroy the ring) they destroy all of the forces of Star Wars. And also, saying "can't we discuss military strength and tactics" is saying LotR wins universe-wise, so just stop. LotR is superior. Not by a large number, but is superior nontheless.

Well, I created this thread to use everything, including dieties, if you do not want to debate dieties, simply leave the thread :).

I am simply stating why using the top gods from each universe is pointless, as they both can literally do everything. If you take them out of the equation, we can use the lesser deities. No need to be so stuck up about it.
Lite would win, and still the value... I think there's a wise saying in there somewhere...

Oh sry :).
Thank you!
Well once again a pointless debate, since it was posted on a LotR forum. If you had posted this on a Star Wars forum I bet everyone would have said Star Wars wins. Plus, is it because a character/universe/etc would win a death fight that it means it is better? And why would Melkor and Sauron win against Star Wars armies? Sauron could be defeated by Elendil and Gil Galad! Melkor was wounded by Fingolfin! Even if they are both immortal they can be defeated and neutralized. But finally, how can you even compare those two universes, with different rules, species, laws, divinities, etc... Star Wars universe is ruled by the concept of the Force. It has its own deities, two sides of the Force, beings of supernatural power, etc ... Luke is said to be the "Chosen One". So he was chosen by something, either a concept, such as the Force, or a divinity. In a place as the Star Wars universe, with its very own lore, would Ilúvatar still have created the whole universe? Or would Eä being only part of the Star Wars universe?
You see? If you go a bit further, you understand you cannot compare both.
Actually, I dont think YOU understand the scale of the Star Wars galaxy. The Galactic Empire at it's height had over a million Imperial class star destroyers, and huge swarms of Victory-I, Victory-II, and Venerator class ships. Star wars has literally tens of millions of planets under Imperial rule (Again at it's height). The number of heavy walkers is shocking, the quantity of stormtroopers- which are elite troops, not cannon fodder- is mind-boggling, and the sheer numbers of Imperial Army troops could drown Middle-Earth in blood and consider it a cheap-bought victory.
LOTR would win with ease. Eru would do something similar to what he did to Ar-Pharazon to the Star Wars people.
