[Closed:Expired] Under armour and chainmail vests

I was wondering, i have seen some other mods that add in extra armour slots (e.g. for gauntlets etc in tinkers construct or galacticcraft) and i was thinking that frodo wore a Mithril chainmail vest underneath his armour to protect himself.

I am proposing that maybe Mevans could add in a second lot of armour slots like:

vests,pants,socks and hood slots. You could equip from bronze to mithril undergarments (which wouldn't show up on the player model, as they are supposed to be hidden from sight) and these would act as a second layer of defence if anything got through the main armour.

To balance this they wouldn't always stop the attack so at bronze a 10% chance and at mithril a 75% chance the attack is either reduced or stopped. They wouldn't be able to stop poison (as it would drip through) or fire damage. They would also have half the durability of their respective armour(e.g. half of an iron chestplate).

To craft them you would use any crafting table and you would create the armour piece using nuggets in the normal recipies.

good idea, also perhaps appearing if the over armor textures dont fully cover them too

yeah maybe, but then it wouldn't be under your skin's clothes and threrefore not hidden, but it should need a different model to cover all of the player e.g. covering its arms, which could look quite cool if patterns are put in if e.g. different patterns depending on which type of crafting table used. :)

good ideabut you shouldnt be allowed to have two plated armour like two sets of mytril like the under set should only be chainmail or leather/cloth

This has / similar notions have been suggested on various occassions before. Imo, adding more armour / clothing slots will only be meaningful if there will be more meaningful attributes to these items. So, more than just materials, durability, protection and looks. I've already mentioned these in quite a few other threads, but I'm mainly thinking of: weight & agility/speed and impact(absorption)/piercing/cut/bulgeoning resistance. All part of a bigger plan (if ever), in which additional slots may play a role.

well in terms of galvorn or morgul armour, i was just thinking these new armour slots would act as a back up if e.g. your Galvorn chestpiece broke or damage got through the firstlayer.
