<p>Some of you may wonder why to nerf horse jump since almost nobody uses horse cause of many different reasons. The reason is that first it's just common logic, i don't think that a horse could jump 10m height no matter the world and 2nd cause it renders some defences useless like if your walls aren't high enough (12 blocks at least) and the rider is persistent he can get inside your place. Spiders are ok in that manner i guess since they are spiders. So that's why i believe that all horses should be nerfed to be able to jump 3-4 blocks at most.

<p>Good horses that jump 5+ blocks are already relatively rare and that makes them extremely valuable. I think the reasons to make horses generally worse are inadequate and not very compelling. As it is, horses die pretty easily when you are exploring, and learning proper use of them is critical (not banging your head and suffocating, or falling into ravines).
</p><p>The main issue seems to be finding creative ways to fortify a castle and there are already plenty of ways to do that, but the small chance of finding a high-jumping thoroughbred, in my opinion, makes the game much more interesting and makes horse-taming rewarding, and we all like being rewarded, right?
