Have you ever noticed that most NPCs seem extremely talkative when a player speaks to them, yet never utter a single word on their own? It seems especially odd when walking through the Shire - Everyone just stares silently at you, only pausing now and again to eat an apple or two.
To fix this strangeness, I am suggesting that NPCs have conversations with one-another from time to time.
Hopefully this would be simple to do and understand, but here is what I think that it could/should be like: Every once in a while, two (or more) NPCs would start up a "conversation" event. They would look at one another like Vanilla Villagers do occassionally. Then, they would say a few lines in sequence, (a few seconds apart) to look like they are conversing. These lines could be either basic lines that are already implemented (which would look/sound a little wierd) or there could be pre-scripted lines to make it sound more like a discussion.
A sample conversation could go like this:
Rohirrim Warrior: Have you heard the news? Some foul orcs have come across the borders into the Westfold.
Rohirrim Civillian: Aye, that I have. I don't like the sound of it, but I guessed that it would happen someday.
Rohirrim Warrior: 'Tis saddening news, nonetheless. I have not seen these orcs, myself, but I hear that they do not fear the sun like most orcs do.
Rohirrim Civillian: They do not fear the sun?! Let us hope that that is just a rumor. If not, I fear the worst.
This is not a particularly necessary addition, but I think that it would add some more depth to the mod, and would hopefully be easy to do.
As always, I am open to improvements!
