<p>Hello and greetings to the people of the LOTR minecraft mod!
Now that we have the pleasantries out of the way, on to the most serious business at hand...
</p><p>Wraiths as a hire able unit. We must have them. And this is how it will happen.
</p><p>Evil players will be getting a nerfed morgul blade, which shall only have one point of durability. When the morgul blade is used to strike a foe, it must break immediately, giving the player a morgul hilt afterwards. (Maybe.) This will make it more challenging, but the rewards will be great.
</p><p>When one player stabs another, the player will receive the wither effect as normal. But if the poor soul who was stabbed withers away...
</p><p>He will become a wraith like them.
</p><p>Simply put, a wraith npc like a barrow wight will spawn with the deceased's username, and will fall under the command of the player who dealt the morgul wound.
</p><p>I understand that there is an element of potential morgul-spamming that can go on here, but I am sure the mod authors have sufficient genius to configure it out. ?

<p>Mevans and co can tinker with the coding so that it is not spam-able. Possibly so that it only works on people with + alignment with the high elves, dunadain, etc. ? and if the blade is uncraftable, that solves some of the spamming problem.
Perhaps could be bought from an Orc shaman for 500 coins apiece? There are multiple ways of doing this without compromising the usability of the morgul blade and keeping the mod balanced. Think of the op Gondolinian armor, and the amount of work that good players have to put in to the aquire it. Mevans can design it so that it is more of a challenge to aquire a morgul blade. But I confess that I do not have any idea's on this point myself. Any suggestions guys?

Maybe Mevans can also add an achievement for killing your own wraith. "Through a mirror darkly"

<p>Speaking of the new enchanting system and morgul blades, there should be a book or scroll or some sort of lost text found rarely in ruins that allows you to turn normal swords/daggers into Morgul and Barrow-Blades and other magical weapons, as a sort of manual.
