<p>Recently I have found a Gondor settlement named "Baranfield".
How strange! It contains both Sindarin and English elements. Imo, the correct way to name a Gondor settlement is using Sindarin words in both prefix and suffix, or just use English words, instead of mixing them up. Maybe a Gondor settlement should have a chance to receive a Sindarin name or an English name(Although I prefer Sindarin names).
Also, the GONDOR SETTLEMENT SUFFIX list has many grammar mistakes imo. First, the initial should be softened. Second, the diphthong "au" in Sindarin should be shortened as "o".
If Mevans agree with my idea, I can help to add more prefixes and suffixes, with a Sindarin prefix-and-suffix list.

<p>Honestly, I think that these blended names could be a good thing, if they only apply to the small villages. Gondor is a fading empire. The common people don't speak Sindarin, and it's doubtful all the nobility knows as much as they claim. Recently founded settlements(i.e. the small villages) might well be named by someone who isn't truly an expert, and only uses what little they know.. Names composed of more than 1 language aren't truly an unusual concept. It happens in reality. Languages aren't something which everybody always keeps separate.. Linguistic drift happens all the time between them. A nation with a Higher Language, such as Sindarin, still being maintained separate from a Lower Language, like Westron, would be peculiar. Sure, it happened across Europe with Latin.. Except Latin also bled into all of the lower languages.
