Anyone would want to go there because some people realise that Harad as 30+ biomes (not including variants). Anyone would want to go there because there are ancient crypts. Anyone would want to go there because some people appreciate the work that Mevans has put into this mod.
Sure, it's not completely supported by lore. Sure, it is different from the rest of Middle-earth. But it fits with the lore, and does not go against it.
It does not go against the letter of the lore but does not vibe well with the rest of it, AKA if you observed it on it's own without context you would never say it was LOTR or even fantasy for that matter.
It is fantasy. As magic forests, the deep jungles of far harad fit right in, with pyramids and ancient cities and people and powers.
They are not naked tribals. The morwaith are the only ones who would come close to that description, and they are the men of the grasslands. They show how differently cultures develop.
They are men. Of course there are no elves and dwarves. Gondor doesn't have elves or dwarves either.
Harad, of all places, is the one with the MOST ancient crypts. Pyramids, tombs, more pyramids, ancient cities, everything you want.
Imo dude, you just sound like someone who hates harad. Sorry if you died in game to a player from the desert, but honestly, sounds like you have never even bothered to GO there.
Oh i went there, actually i travelled on foot, wanted to see this wonderful land everyone was buzzing about, was totally dissapointed, it felt like i was playing entirely different mod, and was pretty much bored to tears. And no, i was not killed by Harad player, i don't play on server, it takes a special kind of talent to punch below the belt and still miss.
Wat? punch below the belt? What is that about?
How/why were you bored? Whats the difference between harad and the other factions? They have their own allies and enemies, they have their troops, their weapons, their gear, their own types of food an drink and whatnot. A ton of different biomes to visit, places to see, etc.
I think your problem was the fact you travelled on foot man. Harad is HUUUGE and I will agree, sprinting in one direction and seeing nothing bust sand and dirt can get monotonous.
But really? The towns are amazing, very colorful and big. TONS of loot, and if you dont like to use it, unsmelt for tons of easy iron and bronze.
In ME i can go from Blue Mountains to Mordor encountering wildly different biomes, structures, mobs and factions every step of the way, every faction is different and areas are small enough you never get bored of them, and it is also really cool to see all the things you read about in books first hand, in Harad you have a desert spanning half the continent, jungle spanning the other half, almost every faction is the same and it lopoks more like POTC then LOTR.

You could take the argument that 'almost every faction is the same' and apply it to every faction in the mod. Think about it. They have different armors, crafting tables, enemies, etc, but other than that they're really all basically the same
Yeah. I mean, the key parts like the Blue Mountains, Fangorn, Lothlorien, Mordor, OF COURSE they are "special and magical". But honestly, Gondor, Fertile parts of harad, rohan forests, dunland, all looks pretty much the same.
I'm sorry if you do not agree with the lore part of far harad, but in the end, it is cool for most people, and it will stay that way. I think it is high time to drop this topic.

Yea Jaw you know what's up. Sam look. There are 10s of biomes in harad. Each unique and beautiful. You don't have to agree although most people will and do.
This thread is not debating if we like harad or how interesting it is or isnt. This thread is debating how much sense it makes or lack thereof. And any argument made for that has so far been ruthlessly torn apart. So can we get back on topic?
What would you suggest then? That harad be removed? XD I think the Harad that exists in the mod is really lore friendly and interesting tbh. You can rant and whine all you want about it being uninteresting. But pretty much everybody else who plays the mod loves Harad. Because of how unique and interesting it is to see the other parts of Tolkien’s world. A world he never got to complete and that we can try and figure out what existed there. You cant blame the mod though for no elves or dwarves. Tolkien stated where the dwarves lived, in Blues, Reds, and the assorted realms of durins folk. So no dwarves unless you want to be uncanon. And I doubt there would be many elves in Harad. Maybe max like 100 random wandering avari that would have all died out by now. Or Maglor on the coast. Orcs had no reason to be down there and we have Half trolls instead. And ents didnt live down there either. So WHAT exactly do you expect to be in Harad dumbass? Only men lived in Harad. And thats why there are several different, unique, and diverse factions of men in Hard. Because nothing else could exist there if we are to follow Tolkiens lore.
