And as a dwarf of erebor I don't see why he would have gotten it from the shire. Nor is it practical if it was a widely used substance they would have only aquired it from the shire. That makes so little sense logistically. Just get some weeds from the shire and grow them elsewhere.

I believe that the "hobbit pipe" should be exclusive to the shire, and other pipes just be found elsewhere such as the dwarves, Rangers, etc.

There were lots of merchants going from the Iron Hills and Erebor through Bree and the Shire to the Blue Mountains (and vice versa), these merchants could have traded gold and silver etc. for goods in Bree like pipes. In lore, some Dwarves and Rangers of the North smoked, so maybe a dwarf pipe and a ranger pipe could be added?

I think it would make more sense to just have "clay pipe" and "wood pipe" which can both be crafted on Hobbit, Ranger and both Dwarven crafting tables. This also fits with the quote "they imbibed or inhaled, through pipes of clay or wood, the smoke of the burning leaves of a herb".

Lol wasn't talking to you, so Idk why you answered my "Have you read the books" question. And yes, they made it rly obvious a wide variety of people in Middle Earth smoked. It is revealed that Theoden had a good bit of knowledge on weed and other herbs, so it can be assumed Rohirrim smoked. Gimli smoked, and he was a dwarf of Erebor as Sildarflame stated. I'm really at a loss for how you can't remember how many non-hobbit LotR characters smoked, and asked S'moregoth if he'd read the books because my point was if you had read the books, you would most definetely remember how prominent weed was. Your quote here is extremely nit-picky, ignorant, and straight up unorganized. Please look into some points you're making, because they are pretty weak.

That's literally what I'm suggesting. I was pretty rushed at the time I was making the suggestion, and didn't go into much detail. Generally, I just want smoking to be more accesible to all factions without having to go to the Shire for pipes. Thought I made that clear but geuss not.
