There is one problem with snow layers growing, which is that the snow doesn't melt away. Eventually there would be tens of blocks of snow.

But maybe the snow could have some gravity?
Or maybe only the thin snow block (and its variants all the way to full block) would fall, while the full block (made of snowballs) would not.

Originally I had thought of this as a buildup to the seasons' planned feature, suggesting how it could be made more realistic, and have it in the game earlier. But it's true that the snow would just pile up and get larger and larger, so maybe have the snow layers (the ones that built up) melt during the day(?) And maybe in a future update with seasons, have it melt during the warmer ones.

I think seasons were abandoned.
