Who would use Mithril for picks, before Menethelema came with Mithril (and then dissapeared because Mevans was salty) i only ever found 3 pieces of Mithril after hours of digging, i would have sworn i was in the wrong place, most of the Mithril i found actually came from ruins and other loot as chunks.
Mevans wasn't salty. He removed Mithril from Meneltarma, because the sanctuary of the most developed race of men became a paradise for miners who didn't want to fight Gundie Orcs or be discovered by other players.

So he got mad that people were mining and crafting in rhe game called Minecraft, not salty at all.
That was not what I meant. I will cite the Meneltarma page: "According to Mevans, Meneltarma was created to be a holy legend, a hidden isle far out in the sea. Since
mithril farmers did not fit with this vision, and since they did not honor the worship of Eru Illuvatar and forsake tools and weapons and speech, the metal was removed from the isle."
Meneltarma is still a holy place for Illuvatar. Not even Sauron dared to defile it when he was on Númenor. But there were many players who built boats and sailed to Meneltarma to, well, defile it.

Hence my point, in lore explenation or not Mevans was mad that people used Meneltarma as easy source of Mithril, of course now that there is no more Mithril to be found there there is precious little reason to even go there, it's just a rock in the middle of nowhere, for all intents and purposes worthless.
And Mithril isn't intended to come from an easy source, since it is the most precious metal in all of Arda.
Maybe, in the future, Meneltarma would be a place where "good" ring magic would be extraordinarily powerful.

But Meneltarma is so tiny, i only found a single vein on the whole island, it's not like you could create an industrial sized complex for mining Mithril there, if you are very lucky you may find enough for a sword and a single suit of armor, the thing is stuff in Minecraft breaks and gets lost upon death, even if you spent days mining for Mithril chances are you will loose it sooner or later especially as good character, no armor will help you against two or 3 Olog Hai, and once again, without Mithril the place is basically just a piece of meadow in the ocean, there is no interesting ruins, no lore to be found there, no treasures, nothing at all, so why go there at all?
Back when mithril was found in meneltarma, I constantly heard players saying that it's broken and that they've obtained more than enough for a full set of mithril gear within hours. Stuff in minecraft can also be repaired, and many servers have /back commands or even keepInventory. "Especially as a good character".. Alright, no armour may help you agianst 2 or 3 olog-hai, but a hulking pike, a striking bow, a small pack of hired rangers or even 2 trees that happen to grow close to each other are enough to kill lots of ologs. Evil players have a way harder time getting alignment than good, but it's nothing impossible. Even if there's no treasures, the place will still attract explorers and achievement-hunters.
I would guess that's vocal minority, and TBH Mithril gear is not that incredibly better then Dwarven gear, you get 1.5 armor points more, which won't really make that much difference especially when facing multiple foes, ok you may go down in 10 hits instead of nine, but does that really matter that much? In light of this i say if you took time to sail to the remotest part of the map and locate one tiny island in the massive sea, and then mine for several hours, i think you deserve those 1.5 extra armor points, had you spent all that time grinding money you could have hired a force of NPCs large enough to seriously turn the tide of any fight, much more then those 1.5 points ever could. As for exploration as i already said, there is nothing, literally nothing to se on Meneltarma, it's just plains biome in the middle of the ocean, there are no ruins, no lore, no nothing, not even a unique type of block to use in builds, only reason i could ever see why anyone would want to go there is if they already did all the other achivements and want another fast travelling point, but who needs that many fast travelling points?
