Can you verify whether other parts of the core-mod are working or not? A startup log would also be useful if you can provide that.

The easiest way to check if the core-mod is working would be to check if vanilla fences connect to modded fences. You can find your startup log in your logs folder. The most recent one will be named: fml-client-latest.log

i am having an issue where i am just running with my horse and then it desapers, i can hear it walk around but i can not mount it. i need to relog to the savegame to fix it
Yeah I think that's a vanilla Minecraft bug, relogging seems to be the best way to deal with it.
My core mod isn't working, the vanilla fences don't connect to modded fences. Reinstalled the mod a few times, but there was no success. So what do I do now?
Figured it out, it was named "LOTRMod-v36.5.jar.zip" but the ".zip" was hidden. Had to put it through a converter and it finally worked.
You shouldn't need a converter, .jar files are just .zip files with a different extension. Windows only warns you because it isn't smart enough to figure out what kind of data is actually stored.
What do you think?
