Is the mod being ported to 1.17 when its released? If so will any changes be made to the already great mountains? I think if the mountains had another 64 blocks to generate the could be mindblowing as well as more difficult to navigate.

I believe that there is a plan to port to 1.17, but I don’t know. If it does get ported, I think that the vanilla mountains should spawn in Middle Earth, possibly as the White Mountains or the Grey Mountains.
Powder Snow should definitely spawn in every mountain biome, including twice as much in the Misty Mountains, specifically the Pass of Caradhas. Elves should also be able to walk on it without sinking.
Goats should spawn in every Middle Earth mountain biome, but twice as much in Forodwaith.
Azalea Trees should spawn in Middle Earth jungle biomes. Lush Caves should not be disabled in Middle Earth.
Do you mean vanilla mountains as in the bedrock beta mountains, the ones from 1.17? If so that could be tricky because they are supposed to generate individualy not in Mountain Ranges that span thousands of blocks. if not the current vanilla mountains are not grand enough to be the white mountains or the misty mountains. I didn't even think about powdered snow but that is a great idea with elves being able to walk one it. I also agree about goats and Azalea trees. Lush caves should MAYBE be able to generate in the jungle. However glow berries and dripleaf are not real life plants and definetly not middle earth cannon.
Porting to 1.17 is planned, yeah
But since it's not even released yet, it's a bit early to speculate about it lol
Maybe the Minecraft Mountains could generate between the Misty Mountain Foothills and the Misty Mountains?
What do you think?
