I often imagine major quests would be a sort of little campaign with a story, one major quest for each faction and you'd need a pledge and an amount of alignment to do them.
Good idea, that is a good way to implement them
I prefer to explore and complete quests that aren't part of a big story because it feels like you are more limited if you are following a story. If this was added I hope there will be a option to turn it off.
It definitely should be an option. And yeah, i agree it should be kinda like a campaign, where you follow a path of "major quests" (i.e. Capture Harnenndor, Capture Umbar, etc, for Gondor)
I chose 'just larget then current quests' because a story would require Mevans to get into story-writing, and the story just wouldn't fit with the stories from Tolkien that we all adore.
I love this, you have put a very powerful question in my mind😅
We can have quests like raiding orc camps or ranger towers, basically quest related to structures rather than just NPCs. And the main objective can be to open chests or replacing banners and can also be journey related
I once made a suggestion for a way these could be implemented quite easily (very similar to mini-quests).
What do you think?
