Is there any news concerning Mevans and the mod? Is he back? Is he alive? Would it be possible for another developer to continue the mod without Mevans?

We simply don't know what's going on. If someone (like the Wiki Staff for example, or those guys over on Discord) know, then they aren't telling us.
If there's no news by the start of next year, the Mod is most likely dead. What happens after that is anyone's guess.
Looking at the popularity of the Mod, it's highly likely someone will take over development (probably without permission) in the next year or so (if they haven't already started).
Overall, the Mod's future is looking pretty dark, but, in the words of Faramir: "I do not believe this darkness will endure".
Hmmm. Thanks. I really wish I could work on the mod. But I have zero knowledge of coding.
I know this has nothing to do with Minecraft, but I've started writing a Silmarillion screenplay. I am wondering if you lotr mod guys had any ideas or suggestions.

Mevans has been active on the discord, the last mod birthday where he checked the last bug reports. He talked about "letting stew all of this one year again". So I suppose Mevans and the mode won't come back before next february.
Also. Mevans is polite enough to inform us if the mod is really dead. He didn't so he's just taking a nap, most likely. So nap nap.
Where has this information been all this time...? Honestly I feel like this kind of news should be posted on the Wiki...

It wasn't, effectively. Probably because Mevans doesn't want it being an instrument of pressure on him; or just because he didn't even mind to make it an announcement when he told that. His silence has surely got its reasons, after all.
If you're interested by this information, you can go check my message wall on my profile. Last time I talked on my message wall with a dude, I gave a path towards the info on the discord to find it easier. (with date and hour of the post.)

@Korokan I know that by posting in this thread I'm breaking the rule on necroposting, but I feel this is too important not to say.
I've checked the link and unfortunately it doesn't take me anywhere on Discord, so the server's likely gone, which isn't a good sign at all.

@Wrath of Ancalagon Weird. I rechecked the ling I shared here and it took me where it was supposed to take. The reason is surely out there.
