Lord of the Rings Mod

I downloaded this modpack from curseforge: Lord of the rings return of the player by Permdog99. It has been running fine. I added optifine to the pack, it worked flawlessly, Than suddenly it crashed and I haven't been able to open my world since then. The crash happens when I load in the singleplayer world.

The game crashed whilst unexpected errorError: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: -1

Hello! I was creating an addon for LOTR:renewed and i was just thinking... were and whow do i get the modded items tags? Theyre essential for mod compatibility, (im basically making an addon mod for LOTR:renewed what adds the key missing features of the legacy version and some more)

I would like to ask whether in the new renewed version or even in the older version you will finally add a button to turn off the bow and sword function.

Especially with elves, it is completely unimaginable. As you made the orcs a few pixels smaller npcs gained an advantage over the elves who can easily stand or sit on a horse for 10 minutes straight and try to hit an orc with a bow who also just stands and shoots. However, with the difference that he hits and my elves die of dementia to draw a sword and kill him by hand. Don't tell me the elves were just archers. Every time i load the world minecraft crashes. But this happens only once, because after i re open it the worlds will load, but also for some reason, lag spikes start happening. Ive been playing this mod for years and this has never happened before. I also updated my drivers and java and everything i could but for some reason the lag spikes are still there. I also use a different gpu now but its better than the previous one + i have about 4 gbs of ram on minecraft. This happens every time and everywhere regardless of the region or the npcs.

When the mod updates to 1.17, I believe that vanilla Goats should be made ridable as well as being made to sometimes generate with a Dwarf riding it.

When the mod updates to 1.18, I believe that the Deepslate layer should generate in Middle Earth since it is just real life Slate, another layer of Stone. It could in the mod represent the deepest depths. There could even be some first age mobs hiding in the Deepslate area, devolved into an animal form. Perhaps Werewolf Dens and Vampire Nests could generate there to represent that other first age creatures besides Durin’s Bane went into hiding. However, if they are added, they should just be hostile on sight and not factions in order to heighten the effects that hiding for so long had on them, showing that the dangers of the depths don’t care about good vs evil. There could also be Void Fog that would generate down there as well as a new fog called Nameless Fog, which could represent the Nameless Things. This new fog would generate within Void Fog which would make it difficult to see anything while Nameless Fog would cause illusions and nausea to convey the sense of the mystery and powerlessness of the deepest depths. The horror of not knowing what might be just out of sight would be terrifying, but it does make sense to be added to represent the Nameless Things. The only thing that the Nameless Fog would not do would be dealing any damage to health.

I am interested in doing modding using the Forge platform. I know this mod creators use this platform and I wonder if anyone could help me get started with modding in Forge. Perhaps, I will be able to add my own features to this mod.

I have been thinking recently and just thought of a potential new achievement for the mod. To get the achievement, you would need to get a keg and ride it beginning within the Woodland Realm, and traveling in it to the Long Lake. After that, you would get the achievement that is the name of the title of my post and a reference to the chapter of the same name in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit.

Maybe as a result, you could gain a barely noticeable decrease in alignment with the Woodland Realm and a slight increase in alignment with the Lonely Mountain.

Also, maybe there could be another slight increase in alignment with literally every faction except for the Woodland Realm and Utumno (For obvious reasons).

In my post, I am proposing that Harad, Rhun, and the other loose cannon aspects of the mob should be made into Data-packs and be replaced with only the pure cannon aspects of them in the mod. There should be options in the settings to configure them, but the default should always lean more towards the pure cannon. The following is how I believe the mod should handle cannon. The mod should start with things leaning more towards things directly published by Tolkien during his lifetime. After that, they should focus on things from Tolkien’s later writings. Then after that would be Tolkien’s earlier writings. After that would be things from the Tolkien Estate. Only after that should the go into loose cannon.

Hi, everyone! I'm enjoying LOTR Mod so much. Even if it's not a problem for me, I noticed that everything but the dialogs ar translated to foreign languages (I'm playing Italian version, on the 1.7.10). So I looked into the "it_IT.Lang" to make some translations, but I haven't seen anything concerning that. Then I found the "speech" folder, where all the NPC dialogs are placed, but there's only the english files. Is there a way to translate all those dialogs without losing the original scriptures? I think it would be great to share a fully translated mod to let more and more people enjoy this fantastic experience by the best way possible. Thank you in advance~

Wen i make a world where im supposed to spawn in middle earth, and i cant see any thing wen i spawn, exept blacknes. i can still interact with the world (things like breaking/placing blocks) but i cant see any thing. how do i fix that?

Also, smaller Gulls should be renamed to Panes or Petrels as that is how they are referred to in Telerin.

If and when the mod updates to 1.17, I propose in this post that the Amethyst of the mod should be replaced by Vanilla Amethyst. I suggest this mainly because Vanilla Amethyst in the Vanilla Snapshots have more uses than the mod Amethyst. Also, Amethyst Geodes should spawn within Middle Earth. Calcite and Smooth Basalt would still spawn around the Geodes. The thing that should be done is that the mod Amethyst trading use should apply to the Vanilla Amethyst.

If and when the mod updates to 1.17, I propose that the Vanilla Dripstone Caves should spawn within Middle-Earth. However, unlike my previous posts where at this point I would suggest that the Vanilla Dripstone Caves should replace the Dripstones of the Mod, I instead propose that the Mod Dripstones should have an equal chance of spawning as the Dripstone Caves and the Dripstone Clusters. After all, not all Dripstones are the same. However, I do think that there could in addition be some Mod variants of the taller Vanilla Dripstones while at the same time keeping the ones that are in the mod now.

I know that Tol Himring is already in the mod, however, it is not as Tolkien Gateway describes it. On the Tolkien Gateway page, it is described as a treeless peak after the First Age. Also, due to Maglor’s fortress being built on the hill and only the peak surviving, shouldn’t we see some ruins on the island and in the water surrounding the island?

I suggest that two new generated structures and one sub-biome should be added to the mod. The sub-biome would be called something like Drowned Himring. The generated structures would be called Himring Ruins and Drowned Himring Ruins. The Himring Ruins structure would spawn on the actual island itself while the Drowned Himring Ruins would spawn in the Drowned Himring sub-biome. The Himring Ruins on the island itself would be much more intact than the underwater variant.

I just found an article on Tolkien Gateway that is about creatures known as Phantoms.

Phantoms: In the Elder Days, creatures of dreadful shapes, among whom are said to have been phantoms, haunted the Elves, dragging people into the darkness surrounding the borders of the Elven dwellings never to reappear.

In Beleriand, the forest of Taur-nu-Fuin was an infamous locale of phantoms of terror said to strangle or pursue lost wanderers.

Using wizardry, it was possible to summon phantoms of delusion. Sauron, master of shadows and of phantoms, devised a phantom resembling Eilinel to entrap Gorlim. In the late Third Age, Saruman was rumored to also be able to craft such phantoms.

It is also told that disembodied, phantom-like Elf-souls, from Elves who had been slain in the course of some wrong-doing, could maliciously appear before living beings to induce fear, being envious of people still alive.

Beings called phantoms also appear in the poem Oilima Markirya.

In a hastily written manuscript on small slips of paper, entitled Reincarnation of Elves, Tolkien discussed different possibilities of how the houseless fea of an Elf can have a memory so strong that it can in another fea(incarnate) induce a picture of it, so that it seems a phantom form. Such a phantom cannot be touched, but can be walked through.

Based on the etymology of qímari, linguists have suggested that Tolkien intended, in this stage of the legendarium, that a phantom was a awake...but not...living hence a mind or spirit that is incorporeal or disembodied.

In The Mod, Phantoms could have mentions in lore books and they should spawn somewhere, though I don’t know where.

I believe that the Silverfish mob in vanilla Minecraft should be able to spawn in specific places within Middle-Earth. They are in fact a real life insect.

In the mod, they should be able to spawn within dark places and ruins. Specifically they should be able to spawn within Infested Blocks in structures that include:

Ruined Beacon Towers.

Gondor Ruins.

Ruined Harnennor Settlements.

Ruined High Elven Turrets.

I really do not like it how you are going out of your way to replace vanilla features with your own variants. All you need to do is keep the vanilla features and add features to them. When I play the mod, I love the combination of vanilla features and mod features. I feel like it would be to your benefit if you focus on adding things unique to J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe. The mod has been taking so much of a toll on my computer, especially the Middle-Earth creative inventory tabs. There is so much within those tabs. I love the mod, but it is so hard to play it now. I just think that the easiest way to fix this is for you to add things that are exclusively in Tolkien’s universe that do not have real life counterparts.
