So, Mordor as we know it today is perhaps one of the strongest factions in Middle-earth. The one thing it lacks, however, is diversity. In places such as the Morgul Vale and Udûn, we only see your average Mordor Orc, which occasionally rides a warg. Black Uruks and Olog-hai pop up here and there, and that’s about it. So the main topic of this suggestion (and it’s a massive one) is primarily about adding diversity to Mordor.

Region-specific mobs-

These mobs, obviously, are assigned to either the whole of Mordor, or are unique to one biome while not being a part of a sub-faction.

- Mordor Uruk- This, I feel, will get the most controversy. Essentially the Gundabad Uruk equivalent of Mordor, except with slightly lower quality armor. These guys would wear Mordor Uruk armor, which gives 16 armor points due to the use of fur, and wield Mordor Uruk equipment. They would spawn everywhere in Mordor, as well as Ithilien, Dagorlad, Nindalf, and Emyn Muil. Unlike Black Uruks, these guys can occasionally get into fights amongst other orcs. They will also give an alignment bonus of 2 per kill, as opposed to Black Uruks, which will give 3 alignment per kill. They can be hired from Mordor Orc Commanders for +300 Mordor alignment and 40 silver coins.

- Mordor Uruk Archer- Mordor Uruks with their own unique bow. They require +350 Mordor alingment and 50 silver coins to hire.

- Black Uruk Berserker- These guys are the rarest, the most loyal to Sauron, and most war hungry of all the Mordor Orcs (plus being the angriest). They are the same height as Isengard Uruk Berserkers. While regular Black Uruks have 30 health, these guys boast 40 HP. The chance of being attacked by these guys with positive Mordor alignment is much higher than regular orcs. In fact, they will attack anyone immediately with alignment under +35. They fully trust you when your alignment reaches +175. They can also run faster than the player, and can see at a far greater distance, rivalling that of a warg. Because they are so strong, they are very rare for that reason, both in Mordor and in Black Uruk invasions. Only a max of two can spawn per invasion. They have their own unique helmet and chestplate, as well as wielding their own cleaver. They can be hired for +600 Mordor alignment and 90-120 silver coins.

- Mordor Orc Scout- This is based off of a suggestion for Gundabad from General Grievous. They would be slightly bigger than hobbits and have 18 health, but are able to detect enemies from a greater distance, and can see through Galadhrim cloaks and Ranger invisibility. They only wear fur armor, and are able to switch between orc bows and a unique Mordor scimitar. They would not spawn in Mordor itself, but would spawn only, and rarely, in Ithilien. They also spawn occasionally in Mordor invasions. They can be hired from Mordor commanders, for +150 Mordor alignment and 15 silver coins.

- Mordor Mountain-troll- Mountain-trolls, but for Mordor. They would replace the Olog-hai spawning in the Mordor Mountains. They would behave in the same way as northern Mountain-trolls, except they have a slightly darker skin tone and wield clubs made of charred wood. In addition, they would throw Mordor rock instead of stone, and, when exposed to daylight, would shatter into Mordor rock particles. They can be hired (though it's not necessarily recommended) from Mordor commanders for +450 Mordor alignment and 90-110 silver coins.

- Núrn Guard- Orcs unique to Núrn. These guys would not spawn naturally, but in structures in Núrn. They would replace the Mordor orcs spawning on the first level of Slaver Towers. In addition, four would spawn in wheat fields. Unlike most orcs, these guys do not skirmish. They would wear Mordor armor, but have their own unique helmet, which is crafted in a similar fashion as the Uruk-hai Berserker helmet. They would also wield Mordor glaives, which is statistically identical to a Mordor Warscythe, but is crafted like a pike, flipped upside down (in other words, the orc steel would go on the top rather than on the side). Apart from Gundabad orcs, these mobs are the only mobs to spawn with these glaives. If it is possible to hire both farmhands and military units from a single trader, they can be hired from slavers for +300 alignment and 45 coins. If not, they can be hired from Mordor commanders for the same price.

I just wanted to quickly mention that Black Uruk Chieftains and towers were in my sights. However, I was also aware of the fact that Mevans was planning on implementing Black Uruk Chieftains and structures, and as such I thought it would be a little risky to suggest them.

Sub-Factions-

Morgul Vale-

This sub-faction is dominant in, obviously, the Morgul Vale. A banner for it was introduced in Beta 29, but that was just about it. This is an expansion for it.

The Morgul Vale would invade most commonly in Ithilien. Morgul Vale invasions would be uncommon in Gondor, and rare in its fiefdoms (Dol Amroth, Lossarnach, Lebennin, etc.)

- Morgul Orc- These orcs would replace the Mordor Orcs spawning in the Morgul Vale. They would also spawn sometimes in Ithilien. They would wear Mordor, Angmar, and Dol Guldur Armor, and wield the corresponding equipment. To be hired from Morgul Orc Chieftains, they need +250 alignment with Mordor and 20-25 silver coins.

- Morgul Orc Archer- Morgul orcs with orc bows. They can be hired for +300 Mordor alignment and 30 silver coins.

- Morgul Orc Warg Rider- Morgul orcs riding Mordor Wargs. The wargs would be able to spawn with Mordor Warg Armor and Angmar Warg Armor. Mounted warriors require +350 Mordor alignment and cost 30-50 silver coins. Mounted archers need +400 Mordor alignment and cost 45-55 silver coins.

- Morgul Orc Warrior- This is also based off a suggestion from General Grievous. These guys would spawn rarely in the Morgul Vale, and in Morgul Vale invasions ONLY. Up to two can spawn per invasion. These orcs would wear Morgul Orc Armor They would also appear with Morgul-spears, which, when thrown, the spears would inflict the wither effect on the target. After the spear has been used, they will use a Mordor Uruk Scimitar. They also have deeper voices. They require +450 with Mordor and 70-90 silver coins.

- Morgul-troll- Specialized Olog-hai for the Morgul Vale. These guys are basically the same as Mirk-trolls, except for the fact that their armor is dark green, and they would have the Morgul Vale symbol on their armor instead of a spider. They require +550 with Mordor and 125-140 silver coins.

- Minas Morgul Banner Bearer- These guys have been added in Beta 29, but I just wanted to quickly mention that these guys would also wear the same armor and wield the same weapons as regular Morgul Orcs.

- Morgul Orc Chieftain- Captains from which you can hire all of the above (in addition to Mordor Uruks). These guys would spawn in Morgul towers.

- Morgul Wraith- Lesser wraiths serving the Nazgûl. These guys would spawn rarely in the Morgul Vale, and are fairly rare in invasions, even rarer than Morgul Orc Warriors. In addition, one can spawn when a player kills another player or NPC with a Morgul Blade, and then holds down the right mouse button. To go even further, the player wielding the Morgul blade can command the wraith like a hired unit if said player has at least +600 Mordor alignment. This is the only way to “hire” the wraiths. It would be pretty harsh on the durability of the Morgul Blade, though, not to mention there is a 25 minute “cooldown” afterwards. They would inflict the wither effect on anything they hit. They would also take the appearance similar to a dementor, but with chilling green eyes.

Morannon-

This is a completely new sub-faction. It is dominant primarily in the Valley of Udûn. The Morannon Banner would have a depiction of the Black Gate with an eye above it.

Morannon invasions are fairly common in Dagorlad and Ithilien, uncommon in Nindalf and Emyn Muil, and rare in Gondor and its fiefdoms.

- Morannon Orc- These guys would partially replace Mordor Orcs in Dagorlad, and completely in the valley of Udûn. They would have 24 health, as opposed to regular Mordor Orcs, which would have 20 health. They would have their own armor, but wield Mordor equipment. They can be hired from Morannon Orc Chieftains for +250 Mordor Alingment and 25 silver coins.

- Morannon Orc Archer- Morannon Orcs with orc bows. They can be hired for +300 Mordor alignment and 35 silver coins.

- Morannon Orc Warg Rider- Morannon Orcs mounted on Mordor Wargs. Mounted warriors can be hired for +300 Mordor alignment and 40 silver coins. Mounted archers require +350 Mordor alignment and 60 silver coins.

- Morannon Banner Bearer- Self-explanatory. They can be hired for +350 Mordor alignment and 45-55 silver coins.

- Morannon Orc Chieftain- Hiring NPC from which all of the above can be hired. They spawn in Morannon fortresses.

Nan Ungol-

Nan Ungol is another sub-faction that is already in the mod, and can already invade places, but this is just one little suggestion to make it unique.

- Nan Ungol Spider Warrior- This is, again, partially based off of another one of Grievous’ suggestions. These guys would spawn occasionally in Nan Ungol, and in Nan Ungol invasions. They would always be found riding a spider (and only spiders with either 24 or 30 health). They would have their own unique armor. They also have the ability to switch between orc bows and a Nan Ungol Spider Cleaver. The cleaver would inflict the poison effect on the target. They can be hired from Mordor Spider Keepers, for +400 alignment and 85 silver coins.

Structures-

- Morgul Tower- These are basically a combo between towers from Dol Guldur and Mordor. The tower would be crawling with Morgul Orcs. At the top resides a Morgul Orc Chieftain.

- Ruined/Overtaken Gondor Watchfort- These structures only spawn in Ithilien. They are an echo of a time long past when Gondor was once a great kingdom. The ruined one has nothing special to it. The overtaken one, however, has Mordor Orcs and Uruks spawning in it, as well as the Gondor stuff being replaced by Mordor stuff.

- Mordor Mine- These are similar to Dwarven mines. They are found only in Gorgoroth. The above ground structure is basically a sort of mini tower. At the top there is a Mordor Orc Trader. Down below is a giant complex, which is rarely lit except for intersections lit by orc torches. The corridors are seething with Mordor Orcs, Uruks, and occasionally, Black Uruks. The loot is somewhat the same as a Mordor Orc Dungeon/Mordor Camp, except for the fact that one can, very rarely, find mithril nuggets. This chance increases as one descends deeper into the mine.

- Mordor Fortresses (Medium and Large)- These fortresses would spawn rarely in Mordor, most commonly in Nurn and Udûn. The Udûn one, however, would have its own variant, with Morannon Orcs and banners instead of Mordor. The medium fortress would be similar in looks to a Gondor watchfort, except that the entrance is one level higher, has a couple of tower-like structures, is made of Mordor brick and holds a Mordor or Morannon Orc Chieftain. The large fortress is a square structure would have five towers. One would be a gatehouse; one would be a sort of battlement; one would be a prison tower; with a depiction of the eye of Sauron; one would hold a trader; and the last, and the tallest one, will hold a chieftain. All of the towers, excluding the gatehouse, would have randomized locations per fortress. In the middle would be a smithy.

Armor & Equipment-

- Mordor Orc Equipment- First, to prevent mix-ups, I suggest renaming Mordor Armor and Equipment to Mordor Orc Armor and Equipment. Augmentations for this equipment set would include a mace, a glaive, and a pike. There should also be a Mordor Scout Scimitar, wielded only by scouts. The scout scimitar would be crafted like a Pelargir Eket.

- Morannon Armor- This is the set that is worn by Morannon orcs. It would be similar to Mordor Orc Armor, but the fur would be red instead of brown. In addition, the eye would be painted onto the helmet. It is crafted with orc steel, fur, and red dye. It would give 15 armor points.

- Mordor Uruk Armor- This is the set worn by Mordor Uruks. It is crafted with uruk steel and fur. As a result, it gives 16 armor points.

- Mordor Uruk Equipment- This set is used by Mordor Uruks. It is composed of everything a Gundabad Uruk equipment set is composed of, with the addition of a glaive (similar to the Mordor Orc glaive). The base damage would be +7 HP.

- Black Uruk Equipment- This should get a slight boost in base damage, up to +7.5 HP. It should also get a poleaxe. The Black Uruk Berserker Cleaver, however, should deal up to +8.5 HP. It should also be crafted with three Black Uruk steel ingots and one stick. The crafting recipe would be similar to a throwing axe.

- Black Uruk Berserker Armor- This would comprise of two pieces, the helmet and the chestplate. The helmet would combine a Black Uruk helmet with two Black Uruk steel ingots and one piece of red dye. The chestplate combines a Black Uruk chestplate with a piece of red dye and two orc skull staves for the design on the back.

- Nan Ungol Spider Armor & Cleaver- This is the loadout for Nan Ungol Spider Warriors. The armor would be crafted using orc steel and leather. The helmet would have a spider design on it, and the chestplate would also have a red spider. The protection given is 14 AP. The cleaver would deal 9 HP per hit, plus giving a poison effect, making it a powerful weapon. It is crafted like an Uruk Berserker scimitar, but with a bone replacing the stick, plus the use of a bottle of poison.

- Morgul Orc Armor & Morgul-spear- This equipment is used only by Morgul Orc Warriors. The armor is crafted by using both Morgul steel and orc steel. The armor would have a 30% chance to inflict a thorns-like effect on the attacker, but with green status effect particles appearing. In addition, the armor would, on every third hit, deplete 6 durability from the attacker’s weapon. Morgul-spears are crafted like any other spear, but with Morgul steel instead. When thrown, the spears would inflict the wither effect on the target. On a quick side note, I never knew Morgul-spears was suggested by someone else until after I listed these and was just randomly looking on the suggestions forum.

- Nazgûl Armor- Again, to prevent mix-ups, I suggest renaming Morgul Armor to Nazgûl Armor. It will keep its same crafting recipe, however.
- Núrn Helmet- A unique helmet used only by the guards of Núrn. To craft it, it requires one undamaged Mordor helmet and one orc steel ingot directly on top.

Ash Damage-

This is based off of a suggestion from a guy who didn’t give much detail, so here I will elaborate. When a player is in Mordor, they have a chance to get damaged, similarly to the cold from Forodwaith. When they are hit by this effect, the edges of the screen would get ash particles around it. Players would get struck most by ash damage in Gorgoroth, and least frequently in Dagorlad, the Ithilien Wasteland, and the Eastern Desolation. It would never, however, occur in Núrn. However, as a player’s alignment with Mordor goes up, the chance of being stuck by ash damage decreases. Only when a player surpasses +300 alignment will they no longer be hit.

Rarity System-

To balance things out, I also suggest that there should be a “rarity system,” so to speak, for the spawn of Mordor. For instance, Mordor Orcs would spawn most commonly, Mordor Uruks would have a little lower spawn rate, and Black Uruks would be the rarest. Mordor Wargs and trolls would be classified as “uncommon.”

So, what do you think? Feel free to leave your thoughts and opinions. Other than that, have a great day. :)
