I thought of the idea of hirable npc traders when I thought of how players build cities but they usually are quite empty or don't have much use other than for site seeing. But what could add more purpose to cities and towns is if players could hire traders that you can station in shops throughout the city. These traders could be bought from their respective factions and the player can give them items to sell or the trader could sell a set of random things. When other players buy things from the trader, the player who hired the npc, can then go and collect the revenue from the trader. In essence, the hirable trader would be like a farmhand; it would behave similarly, just with trading instead of farming!
