Let's add a melee unit for the Dûnedain of the North. He can be named the Dûnedain Warden.
His armour:
He is basically a more armoured version of the ranger, he can fight the shadow better that way.
Yeah, it would fit, although since the armour I suggested is a combination of leather and metal it wouldn't be maxed out. The Dûnedain should get more units in their roster, so maybe not oly the Warden armour I submitted should be added, but also some other armours. They did it with Gondor and Mordor.

1. I think craftable would be the case, it would be a combination of leather and iron. That way the new unit doesn't break the lightly armoured ND style whilst obtaining a greater protection that fits their role.
2. Arnorian, salvaged most likely or past down from their families.
3. They would need the melee strenght of the Tower Guard, their armour will be between the normal ranger's and iron level armour. Alingment wise I've already stated you would have to be pleged to the ND to get them in your army. I think an alingment of at least +200 is required, since these guys are the defenders of the ND villages and are thus rare.
I hope that answers some of it, I haven't thought that hard about their roles yet (haven't had the time), I've only recently restarted playing this mod and I thoguht the ND needed some expansion so I made the icons in my spare time. Hope you are a bit more statisfied with this answer.
If you'd suggest something and didn't give at least something to show what you mean no one would even know what the armour would look like in your inventory. That being said I just wanted to show you something to support my idea. I don't know why you are so hellbent on discouraging this idea. Why is that?
I'm not gonna texture something that won't even be used, it would be a waste of time.

I was thinking this unit could be like the Tower Guard of Gondor. So I think you at least need to be the lowest pledged alingment title you can get with the ND.
As for weapons I've not really thought about that.
The Dûnedain of the North are just really bland at the moment. I meant to say this unit could be the melee unit of that faction, they won't have invisibility, they won't have bows, they just use melee weapons to fight their enemies. It could have an advantage for the evil factions as well, they won't turn into a porcupine whilst fighting this unit and like that it might become easier to kill some Dûnedain. If there's anything else you want me to clarify, just ask, I'm not that good at explaining my viewpoints.
