2. Were you listening to what he said? "they are only powerful because of the light entombed in them and the prophecy given to them by Mandos" That doesn't make all gems powerful
3. No, Thror and Thrain's lust was because of the Dwarven Ring. Thorin's lust was because of dragon sickness (i.e. it made him lust for wealth cos Smaug had had it).
4. Just no. He literally said "Nobody knows what the Palantirí are made of" and you say "Everyone understands they were Tolkien's crystal balls, they're gems, and to quote a certain person, "everyone knows it." Who is this "certain person"??? Find 1 canon source that they're gems.
I'll let Pumpkinator reply to the rest
Although the banners bit might be a bit harder to code the capes shouldn't be too hard since they were there before. Dalish Captains, Rohirrim Marshals and Rangers have cloaks too btw. Nice suggestion, kudos!
"the last homely house west of the sea" should be east. Great suggestion tho, kudos!
You could have TWO armor slots. Say, one for the actual MAIN armor, and one for CLOTHES armor.
The main armor slot is where you could wear whatever you want, but in the SECOND one you could wear partial armor/not REAL armor, like the rangers which wore "leather tunics, but beneath them, glinted a coat of mail"
SO: first armor slot, actual ARMOR, and second "clothes" slot, is stuff like kaftans, haradric robes, galadrhim cloak, perhaps very LIGHT armors like ranger armor, leather armor, etc? and hats.
The "extra" armor/clothes wouldn't give any protection.
Yeah I like this. Although I think the "clothes" slot shouldn't give any protection, it should still give speed bonus for scout armour, invisibility for Galadhrim cloak, sun protection for robes, cold protection for fur etc.
Thank you very much Gayboi420 for realising your suggestion needed improvement and doing some research. Pipeweed grows in the Shire but also in Bree and Gondor (although in Gondor they only have it as a nice smelling flower not for smoking.)
By "argument" I mean like suggestion, sorry if that was unclear. Although it turned into an argument when Gayboi started becoming overly defensive when people told him his suggestion is not lore-accurate and decided to try and insult them and repeat "it's common knowledge everyone in ME smoked". If he could just accept his suggestion needs improvement that would be much easier for everyone.
And why not Erebor Elenion? Gimli smoked.
Chill m8, I'll take that as a no, you can't find any quotes. If you didn't know my quote was from The Lord of the Rings, which is what this mod is based on. Please can you explain how my quote is "extremely nit-picky, ignorant, and straight up unorganized"? And don't try and tell me my argument is weak when I provided a quote, and you refused to, twice, saying "they made it quite simple weed is a pretty widely used resource". Your argument is weak as you cannot find any quotes as evidence and assume that as one Dwarf smoked all other Dwarves do and one very well educated person knew about herblore you seem to think that means all of his Kingdom knew about it. And don't try and claim your suggestion was what I just suggested. You said it should be renamed to pipe and found almost everywhere. Maybe next time you could not rush your suggestion and go into detail? Also your argument that it should be accessible to all factions is very weak, as Riv said, "Otherwise we should make everything spawn everywhere and not have faction-specific or biome-specific items".
Now before you repeat "it's common knowledge everyone smoked" or "your argument is weak", find some quotes to back up your suggestion.
I think it would make more sense to just have "clay pipe" and "wood pipe" which can both be crafted on Hobbit, Ranger and both Dwarven crafting tables. This also fits with the quote "they imbibed or inhaled, through pipes of clay or wood, the smoke of the burning leaves of a herb".
There were lots of merchants going from the Iron Hills and Erebor through Bree and the Shire to the Blue Mountains (and vice versa), these merchants could have traded gold and silver etc. for goods in Bree like pipes. In lore, some Dwarves and Rangers of the North smoked, so maybe a dwarf pipe and a ranger pipe could be added?
Gayboi420 if you will just ignore people asking for quotes and just argue that "they made it quite simple weed is a pretty widely used resource" then I may as well leave this discussion. Also Riv was just saying she's a girl that wasn't her argument xD
Now please can you provide some quotes that Gondorians, "most dwarves" or Haradrim smoked? I mean I don't think you'll be able to but if you're so sure then go ahead. And before you say "Wut?? Have you even read the books?" yes I have. I would also like to ask you have you even read the book??? Cos it doesn't look like it
"Otherwise we should make everything spawn everywhere and not have faction-specific or biome-specific items."
What?? So just because I think that, since I want something we know for a fact that people so far as Gondor used to be more easily obtainable to all factions, I suddenly want everything to spawn everywhere? Bruh, do you know what a "strawman argument" is? Because you basically just redefined it.
Bottom line: Weed is smoked in almost every corner of Middle-earth, and as of now we can only find it in the Shire. I think it would be completely reasonable to be able to find them as far as Gondor and maybe even Harad.
There was plenty of weed in Gondor but they just had it as a sweet smelling flower they didn't smoke it. Can you provide any quotes that Gondorians, "most dwarves" or Haradrim smoked?
