Can farmhands go to trapped chests with hoes on? Or does it only work for normal chests?

My friend also has this problem and while trying to find a way to fix it for him, I found a mod that has helped people with this before, it didnt work for my friend but it might work for you.

Mining mithril takes a lot of effort and patience whereas a farm u just build it and it gives u infinite free loot.
My saddest was on TOS, I was new and in Ithillien and I saw an Olog Hai a distance away (I had no evil alignment at this time). I walked over and because it was lagging the Olog Hai didn't move. Then it sprinted at me and smacked me off a cliff.
EDIT:
Nevermind, my true saddest death was still again on TOS. I jumped off a wall at Poros and as I fell I realised that I had jumped into Quagmire! It was banner protected by the Ruler of Harad! My boss!
