Aspen trees are widespread trees, generating in many localities in Middle-earth.

Spawning[]

A list of biomes with aspen trees is provided in the infobox to the right. In some of them, you can also find an aspen dominated forest, with a few of other trees intermixed. Check this list to find out where you find those.

AspenForest

An aspen forest can be found in various biomes and has only a few other trees intermixed.

Appearance[]

In spite of being a broadleaved deciduous tree, aspens are rather reminiscent of most coniferous trees in form. However, their broad leaves are lightly coloured, as is their light grey bark. They are fairly tall, standing roughly ten blocks in height.

Uses[]

Aspens can be chopped down for their wood, which makes for a useful, renewable and overall convenient building material that can be crafted into beams and planks, which in turn can be used to make stairs, slabs and a large amount of utility blocks/items.

Trivia[]

  • In real life, aspen trees are pioneer trees, and are commonly the first species to grow in the boreal forests following a fire. They are generally replaced by other species, such as birch, and finally spruce and fir, later on in the forest's lifespan.
