Bananas grow on Banana Trees. They can either be eaten as a snack or crafted into food with higher saturation. They restore one hunger bar. When you harvest a banana from a tree you will get the achievement "Hanging Around".
They are used in the brewing of banana beer and the making of banana bread and banana cake.
