Were you looking for the Uruk-hai of Saruman?
“ | ‘There are Orcs, very many of them,’ he said. ‘And some are large and evil: black Uruks of Mordor.’ | ” |
–The Fellowship of the Ring, The Bridge of Khazad-dûm |
Black Uruks are some of the strongest fighting units allied with the dark land of Mordor. They can be hired from Mordor Orc commanders.
Behaviour
As with Mordor Orcs, the chance of being attacked by these creatures decreases the higher your alignment gets. When your alignment reaches +100 for Mordor, they will no longer target you.
These Uruks will spawn day and night wherever Mordor Orcs spawn, and will also spawn in when Mordor invades the lands around the dark mountains. Due to their size, they are unable to ride Mordor Wargs. Unlike regular Orcs, they are not weakened by the sun, and as a result they will not suffer from debuffs during the day as they are stronger and more versatile. However, their spawn rate is considerably less than normal Mordor orcs.
Black Uruks have an increased sight range of 24 blocks instead of the default 16, because they're taller.
Drops
Black Uruks commonly drop rotten flesh and also have a few rare drop possibilities such as Black Uruk steel ingots and Orc draughts. Additionally to these, they have a moderate chance to drop some of the equipment or armour they are carrying. As of Update 35, they can very rarely drop shiny shirts upon their death.

Hiring
These powerful units can be yours to command with a Mordor alignment of +400 and 60 silver coins, from Mordor Orc commanders. Many people favour them as they have strong armour health and attack and they beat most mobs in one on one fights!
Advantages | Disadvantages |
---|---|
Strong melee attack | Rather expensive |
Very strong armour | Don't spawn mounted. |
Increased sight range compared to normal NPC's | |
Does not receive debuffs during the day |
