Q: Will you continue updating the mod to newer versions of Minecraft, or will it stay on 1.15 after this till you get another feature you would like to have?
A: We will hopefully keep up with MC updates more. The main reason we shirked the 1.8 update and subsequent ones was the huge amount of codebase refactoring (such as the above) - 1.16, for example, will probably be just a content update and not require any major code changes for a modder updating from 1.15.

Good good :p
With luck maybe the next update can go straight to 1.16
The 1.16 update is the nether update, it would be a waste of time to transfer to it seeing as the nether does not exist in middle earth.
Yes though 1.16 doesn't only add the nether, it also adds some bug fixes and other stuff
The vanilla features are mostly never the reason why mods do update to newer versions, it's the technical changes, bugfixes and especially just the fact that it's a new version.
