Exciting News! Something is about to happen that hasn't happened in a very long time... It is once again time for a LotR Mod Building Contest! This contest's theme is "Easterlings". Our older fans may remember the contests we held back in the first year of the mod. But that was over three years ago, so if you don't know how this works, read on...
> What's a building contest? It's what it sounds like: you build something in the mod, send it to us, and you can win special prizes! The builds are NOT added into the mod - it's just a chance for you to showcase your building ability.
> What are the guidelines? It is up to you how you choose to interpret the theme, but it has to be somehow related to Easterlings. You can build in creative - indeed, it's encouraged to do so, because we will be judging builds on their appearance. You can't use content from other mods. But you can use commands such as World Edit to help with landscaping if you want.
> How do I enter? Make a build, and post it on this page as a WALL POST - NOT a message, NOT a comment, and NOT anywhere else. The post must include at least two screenshots of the build from different viewpoints, along with a link to download the world file. (See the end of this post for instructions on how to do that.)
> Can I work in a team? You can, but only one person will be able to receive the exclusive prize if your build should win.
> How long do I have? You have two weeks. Submissions will close at 10pm, on Sunday the 12th of March.
> What happens after that? Our mod team will carefully judge the submissions and pick the top ten builds. Once we have chosen them, we will have a community vote, where you vote on the chosen builds to select the top three.
> What are the prizes? All top three builds will win an exclusive shield! This will be available in the shields menu in the next update of the mod. You can wear it on servers to show off your accomplishment. In addition, the winning build will be featured as our cover photo for two weeks afterwards.
Got all that? Good - now start building!
- To upload a world file: go into your .minecraft folder, find the folder corresponding to the world save, compress it into a .zip file, upload that to a website (we recommend Filedropper) and copy and paste the link to your post.
