Utumno is pretty good right now, but it would be great if some more features were added:
New Weapons
Firstly, I wish to add the Utumno Chieftan Warhammer. See "Utumno Chieftan" as to stats. Next, Angband tools and armor. Slightly better than Utumno stuff (multiply by 103% of Utumno stats), they appear to be a darker shade of Utumno tools/armor. Includes all possible weapon types (aside from lances, battlestaffs and warhammers), and is found semi-rarely in Underwater Elven Ruins. (Elves stole them from dead Orcs.)
Utumno Chieftan
Relax! I am not suggesting an Utumno hiring unit. This is more like Uruk Berserkers than other chieftans. They spawn only on obsidian and fire levels. These guys apper only in large caverns within Utumno. In these caverns spawns a small raised platform. Atop it stands this one Utumno Chieftan. These guys wield an Utumno Chieftan Hammer, dealing 150% of an Utumno Warhammer (I think that exists. If not, 150% of what an Utumno Warhammer would be.) and appears similar to Angband Weapons, a blacker version of the Utumno Warhammer. It is however, more powerful than Angband base damage. The chieftan has some abilities only available to the chieftan, with or without a hammer. The chieftan can summon in up to five Utumno units (including suggested ones unless noted otherwise!). These units will only attack a player that the chieftan sees. In other words, these five units share the eyes and ears of the chieftan when it comes to who to attack. (Note: Utumno Chieftans cannot summon more Chieftans.)
Utumno Banner
It is notable that Utumno has no banner. It will appear plain black (that is the canon way of doing things), although slightly scorched. Unlike other banners, the post seems to be made of iron. There is a crafting recipe on the Utumno Crafting Table (another suggestion), using an "iron rod" (crafted with two iron ingots yielding four rods on vanilla table) instead of a stick.
Utumno Banner Bearer
Acts like other banner bearers, giving boosts to nearby allies. They can only be spawned by the Utumno Chieftan, and it is guaranteed that at least one will be spawned when an Utumno Chieftan does summonings. Their boosts are slightly more powerful than the average banner bearer.
Utumno Smithy
(Spawns on all levels!) What is that you see? There is a (1x2) doorway in the side of the corridor! It leads into a small 3x3 chamber outlined in Ashen Utumno Brick, a new dark version of Utumno Brick, appearing to be the brick native to whatever level this spawns on, but covered in soot and ash. In the wall, there will be an Utumno Forge, which makes Dark Orc Steel. Dark Orc Steel makes Elite <insert faction here> Orc armor, having +1 every stat compared to the regular of the faction. There is also an Utumno Banner on the wall, with an Utumno Crafting Table.
Utumno Crafting Table
This is the new requirement for any who wish to build with Utumno materials. Utumno Bricks now can only be made into stairs, slabs, walls etc. with this. It appears as a Morgul Crafting Table, but mixed with a very dark shade of gray. The orange crafting grid (on the block!) is now black, the "lines" are a sickly green (Gulduril?). There are black swirls emitting from it (like Morgul torches, but black). Also, this acts as an "Utumno anvil", being the new way to repair Utumno/Angband tools, weapons, and armor (shapeless recipes). (Feel free to add Utumno Anvil! These are required for all operations with Utumno/Angband tools, weapons, and armor.)
Balrog Buff
Compared to what they really are (in canon), this is baloney. They should at least be made a boss. Why add two non-canon bosses so both sides can fight a boss, when you have an answer right here! The Balrog should be made more OP really, but here are some ways to do it (I just want a Balrog buff, I do not care about how it is done.):
Boss Bar:
Add for obvious reasons. Special Attack: Maybe a flamethrower type attack in which the Balrog bends down and spits out a ton of pure flame?
Double/Triple-staged Boss:
The Mallorn Ent and Hill-troll Chieftan both have a two-stage fight. Balrogs now have a first stage where they are "cloaked in shadow" with the "shadow stretching from wall to wall" thing. When they are defeated for the first time, they lose this "shadow-cloak" and take their current form. Now though, they can only be beaten by weapons with Chill of Daedelos (or however you spell it), or Gondolinian Weapons. Their attacks also ignore any armor aside from Utumno, Angband, Gondolinian, or a new one, armor with Blessing of Valinor, an extremely rare scroll that seems to be glowing and makes the armor itself glow. It is found only in hidden, but rather common, buried chests on Meneltarma and much less commonly in a chest buried under an Underwater ELven Ruin. After this, on the third stage, it will only succumb to an Utumno Chieftan Warhammer, but all armor counts again.
Trophy/Drops and Related:
Obviously, we must add a trophy. Flame of Udun is now dropped by the stacks , considering how hard it is. It will drop also, a new gem called whatever "Shadow Gem" is in Quenya (if you cannot get it into Quenya, Sindarin will do). This will sellf for 500 coins from any trader. (We still need a trophy, because players should not hesitate to sell this.)
This will conclude my suggestion. I have no idea why it is all in info-boxes, but I tried.
