So before anyone goes on my tail about major structures being one of the last things that Mevans will be adding, I know. I realize that. However, there is also one other thing I realize.
The major structures are scheduled to be added after most of the main factions and mechanics have been implemented, but to be honest, I'm not sure about this.
I may be the only one here who feels this way, but should the major structures really be delayed until then? When I first started playing the mod, one of the first things I did was quickly teleport to a waypoint like Helm's Deep to see the amazing structure. Only, it wasn't there. This was one of the biggest disappointments I ever had with the mod.
If we're being honest for a minute, the mod already has *most* major factions. That area of the mod has been done well. In addition, minor structures and construction blocks are already well implemented. there's so much variety that I can't even use or see it all.
Food is great, there are plenty of NPCs and hireable units. None of those are a problem.
But, despite all this, many of the (quite literally) biggest things from the series are still missing from the mod. It's just weird seeing the open gap where Minas Tirith should be. It's like a big gaping hole exists that has yet to be filled.
And then, what are we adding in this latest update? Decimal points. To be completely honest, I am pretty disappointed.
Now, once again, before you start yelling at me about Mevans working hard, and how we should appreciate what he's done, Yes. I understand. Also, I realize that there are multiplayer servers with structures prebuilt in those locations, but still.
I play a lot of singleplayer. However, one big problem presents itself with every new world I start. Where do I go?
Sure, I could travel to gondor and wander around, looking for structures and quests, or try to walk into Mordor and get slaughtered by Olog-Hai, but there aren't really many big landmarks toward which to book your journey.
I realize the huge project it would be to implement these structures, and I'm not going to say things like "he already added Shrek's hut, a cherry tree, three mountains and a wall-ring. It can't be THAT bad," since I know I'll probably just end up making a fool of myself for my inferior knowledge of Java and get berated in the comments.
I just want to say that I think the work it would take may just be worth it for the factor by which it would increase my and others' appreciation and love of the LotR Mod. If anyone here agrees with what I've said, or survived my rant long enough to get to this part, please give a kudos to show you agree.
Thank you!
