While a little amount of people suggest Rhun, I decided to go further. And now - here it is. Planned huge detailed suggestions about Dark Land, not even existing continent in the mod, from scratch: from the geography and shape of continent to a special item of the faction.
My plan is to make Dark Land interesting. What's the point in adding continent which isn't interesting, right? Because Tolkien gave no info about that continent, I can almost fully use my imagination. The limits are:
- The info about only wild men living here. Well, mostly.
- Continent has Yellow Mountains on south-east. I might have some interesting ideas for them.
Overall
Dark Land, like Meneltarma, is hidden from the very start (if it possible, make it so the whole continent would open after entering one of its biomes). Noone knows about this continent except for very few Black Numenoreans, who are far away too.
Parts
The Dark Land is split to 5 parts in my fiction (from north to south): Covra, Arth, Amirakh, Kirakh, Shundere.
Covra
Biomes
- Dark Land Wasteland: a plain biome devoid of life, just like Brown Lands or Dagorlad.
Vegetation: brown grass with grey shade, charred trees.
Factions: none.
NPC: none.
Other: you get heat there. - Dark Land Desert: even though it is called desert, in fact it is subdesert, with often chunks of dirt spawning, with rare oak trees and acacias growing there.
Vegetation: green grass with slight yellow shade, oak, acacia and cedar trees.
Factions: Covriath.
NPC: Covriath Nomad (rare); Camels, Boars, Sheeps. - Llikh: fertile land on the east, being a tropical light forest. This is a homeland to Covriath, being dodgy and pro-military people.
Vegetation: green grass, acacia, oak, cedar and tropical fruit trees, ginger plants, tropical flowers.
Factions: Covriath.
NPC: Covriath, Covriath Warrior, Covriath Raiders; Camels, Boars, Sheeps.
Factions
- Corviath: sly, warlike, cynical and zealous people under Tribe Union, who wouldn't miss their chance to get more land. Their craftiness always makes deals, useless for other side, but very useful for them, and if the others decline their proposals, Corviath will always raid them for the best, if not conquer. They never heard of Sauron before Black Numenoreans arrived to them, who decided to praise the Dark Lord, but they got drowned for declining the true god Eru.
- NPC:
- Corviath (Llikh) - a swarthy man, wearing long sleeved green or yellow shirt and sarong on their waist, and often flat headgear. They really like guests.
- Corviath Warrior (Llikh) - Corviath with weapon in his hands. His armor is decorated with gold and very sharp.
- Corviath Nomad (Dark Land Desert, rare) - colonist in Dark Land Desert, which Corviath already own. They are decentralized, but friendly people, who are always happy to see someone in these barren lands.
- Corviath Raider (Llikh, Dark Land Dry Savannah, Dark Land Savannah) - a warrior of Corviath, raider of lands which they consider their rightful. If you aren't that friendly with Corviath, you shouldn't meet them, because of their fast horses.
- Structures:
- Corviath Tent (Llikh (normal), Dark Land Desert (nomad)) - the home of Corviath. It has 1 big chest, there Corviath usually put all thier stuff: starting from a lot of food and drinks and ending with armour and precious weapons. The also stuff is Corviath and normal crafting table, 2 beds and 2 furnaces. Nomad variant has less stuff in chest and only 1 bed and furnace.
- Corviath Obelisk (Llikh, Dark Land Desert) - the monument built for Eru with stone. On top of it is a big sun made of sandstone.
- Corviath Fortress (Llikh only) - a 1-floor building built with stone and red stained clay. Windows here are 2 blocks tall. Here you can find 2 big chests - one with food and drinks, and the other for weapons and armour, 6 beds (for 6 warriors), 2 furnaces, and crafting tables. Six warriors spawn here, including commander, banner carrier, 2 archers and 2 normal warriors.
