The LotR mod uses the work of Tolkien to map out the regions of Middle Earth. All the main regions of Middle-earth, and many minor regions, are present in their correct places on a scale of approximately 1:20 to the distances described in the original works. For any areas that are not mapped in detail by Tolkien (such as Far Harad), the Atlas of Middle-Earth has been used as a basis for the shape of the land.
