Chalk is a type of rock that dominates the White Downs of Eriador, Rivendell and Dorwinion. Chalk originates from mineral deposits and is a very light-weight rock that is easy to mine.
In the Renewed version of the mod, chalk can also be found below the surface in the Eriador downs and the the Wold. There is also a 'dirty chalk' block that acts as a transition between dirt and chalk in the various biomes that the two blocks meet.

As Chalk is a very soft material, it can easily be shaped into bricks, stairs, slabs, walls, or Chalk Pillars on a regular crafting table.
