This feature is present in: Renewed, Legacy.

Archet on the edge of the Chetwood.

The Fellowship of the Ring, At the Sign of The Prancing Pony

Chetwood is a small forest north of Bree-land (which it is also a sub-biome of) and west of the Midgewater marshes. It is a beautiful and colourful woodland, and is one of the main homes of the maple tree, which is found in large quantities in this biome.

Orcs do not spawn here as the biome belongs to the safe region of Bree-land, and is under the careful watch of the Rangers of the North. However, suspicious spies and brutes spawn here more commonly than they do in Bree-land.

Upon entering Chetwood, the player earns the achievement "Ruffians' Haunt".

Variants

  • Chetwood hills - A hillier variant of the Chetwood biome.
  • Chetwood flowers - A variant of Chetwood with a much greater population of flowers.
  • Chetwood clearing - A clearing in the surrounding forest.

Structures

The only structures to spawn here are Small Stone Ruins and stone ruins of Arnor and stone brick.

Mobs

Ruffian spies and brutes can be found here fairly commonly. Farm animals are also plentiful, as well as deer, wolves and other common animals. Chetwood can also be invaded by Gundabad.

Conquest

Chetwood can only be conquered by the ruffians of Isengard with a conquest rate of 1.0.

Vegetation

Chetwood is notable for its maple trees, which can be used for tasty maple syrup. The other trees found here are oaks, birches, aspens, chestnuts and beeches, or more rarely apple or pear trees. Flowers in this broadleaf forest biome are more common than in the rest of Bree-land.

Trivia

In Update 36, Bree-land hamlets spawned here, but they were removed in Update 36.2.
