Coast Southron Armour is the armour worn by the Coast Southron Warriors and their commanders. It has an armour rating equivalent to that of Dorwinion Armour.
Upon donning a full set of Haradric armour, the player gets the achievement "Coastland Soldier."
The texture received an update as of Public Beta 27, adding bronze scales to parts of the armour in accordance with the lore description. In Public Beta 28, the armor became even more red and gold, losing most of its black coloration. In Public Beta 34, its name was changed from Haradric armour to Coast Southron Armour and its look was changed.
It is a common misconception that Coast Southron armour provides protection from the desert heat of Near Harad. This is not true, and has never been true. However, Harad Robes have this function.
Champion Helmet[]
The Southron champion's helmet is a visual enhancement of the normal Southron helmet. It is worn by Southron warlords and champions.
The champion helmet offers the same protection (2 armour points / 8% damage reduction) and has the same durability (264) as regular Southron helmets.
Crafting[]
Regular pieces of Coast Southron armour are all crafted using the vanilla armour recipe shapes with bronze ingots on a Haradric crafting table. The champion helmet utilizes an undamaged Southron helmet along with two sticks and one piece of leather.
