The Lord of the Rings Minecraft Mod Wiki

The dirt path block is used in mod generated roads throughout many of the biomes of Middle-earth. It represents compacted/ compressed dirt, which is a cheap and effective way to pave roads when no suitable alternatives are available. The blocks have a similar appearance to vanilla dirt blocks, albeit that the shade is lighter, in line with the lower humidity and higher density of compacted dirt. Physical properties are practically the same as for vanilla dirt blocks. Check the category page for more types of dirt.

Obtaining[]

Dirt path blocks can be obtained by shoveling them from the roads or by crafting them from dirt, barren dirt and/or podzol.

The crafting recipe is shaped and requires 2 blocks of (barren) dirt and/or podzol. Podzol and (barren) dirt are interchangeable. See the examples below.

Slabs[]

As of Public Beta 29, dirt path slabs are used to create smoother roads, and it's also possible to create them, using a vanilla crafting table and the standard slab recipe:

Usage[]

The crafting recipe provides an excellent way to process the average miner's/terraformer's surplus of dirt into something useful for the average builder: a decent and cheap block that can be used for paving paths and roads or erect civil structures that don't need to be super sturdy, like lower walls, levees and fishery docks.
