“ | In battle they wielded heavy two-handed mattocks; but each of them had also a short broad sword at his side and a round shield slung at his back. | ” |
–The Hobbit, The Clouds Burst |
Unequaled in Middle-Earth, the equipment fashioned by the craftsmen of Durin's Folk is greatly admired by the warriors and workers of men.
Dwarven equipment is more sturdy than most other equipment sets, each piece having 700 durability points; however, Dwarven tools break blocks slightly slower than their vanilla iron counterparts. In place of bows, the dwarves use throwing axes and spears for ranged combat. In addition to the standard tools and weapons, the Dwarven set includes a mattock which functions as both a pickaxe and an axe. Dwarven pickaxes and mattocks are among the few tools in MIddle-Earth capable of mining mithril ore and obsidian.
Crafting[]
All equipment crafted in the same pattern as other tools and weapons, only it is made on the Dwarven crafting table using Dwarven steel ingots in place of some other, weaker metal. Dwarven steel ingots can be made by combining iron and coal in a Dwarven forge

Few weapons say "dwarf" like the battleaxe. Equally adept at cutting trees and the necks of Orcs, the Dwarven battleaxe deals a whole heart more of damage than a sword, but it swings slightly more slowly. Many Dwarven warriors wield this weapon.

One of the most powerful weapons in the mod, the warhammer deals crippling damage at the cost of a slower swing speed. Dwarven warriors may be seen wielding this formidable weapon and, as of Public Beta 26, the warhammer is the weapon of choice for Dwarf commanders.
Dwarven Spear[]

The pike boasts double the reach of a sword double the sword at the expense of slower swing speed.
Dwarven Throwing Axe[]
In place of bows, the Dwarves use throwing-axes to take down foes from afar. Throwing axes deal around 7 HP of damage per hit, and may be thrown instantly, unlike the spear. A type of Dwarven warrior, the axe-thrower, uses these weapons in combat, dealing 7 HP of damage per hit to any evil NPC, the most powerful ranged attack of any NPC in the mod.

Shoveling dirt may not be as glamorous as tearing through stone with a pick, but it's work that must be done. This sturdy shovel is a must.
Dwarven Axe[]

Sometimes, it might be wise to save the battleaxe for chopping up Orcs and to use a regular wood-axe to chop down trees. This axe will also deal with Orcs if needed, though the battleaxe is a better option for Dwarven warriors.
Dwarven Hoe[]

No self-respecting Dwarf goes far without a pickaxe. This pickaxe may be slightly slower than most other picks in the mod, but it is durable and can mine any ore including Mithril and obsidian.

---|---|---|---|---|
6 () | 100% | 100% | Normal | enduring, hardy, lasting, blessed, blunt, chilling, crooked, dull, dwarfbane, elfbane, fortunate, headhunting, hefty, hulking, infernal, keen, legendary, long, lucky, mighty, orcbane, sharp, slow, spiderbane, stunted, swift, trollbane, wargbane, wightbane, wraithbane, handy, hasty, masterful, nimble, silken, and sluggish |
For those adventurers who find that carrying a pickaxe and a wood-axe takes up too much space, the Dwarven mattock is the perfect solution. It can be used both for chopping wood and for digging through stone; it's an axe and pickaxe combined. It'll also deal with Orcs, were that required.
