Dwarven Tonic is a magic drink of a pale blue shade, commonly used by Durin's Folk and the Blue Dwarves. When consumed, it grants the drinker the night vision ability. Among the magical drinks of the mod, it is unusual in that it can also make you drunk for a short period of time, even though it is the weakest alcoholic drink in the mod.
Brewing
This drink can be brewed in a barrel with three wheat bundles, two Dwarfwort plants, and one mithril nugget, arranged above the usual three water buckets. Brewing consists of five potency steps (weak, light, moderate, strong, and potent), and each completed step increases the drink's effects. Although extremely useful, this drink is very expensive, requiring the rare Dwarfwort plant and mithril.

Obtaining
Dwarven Tonic can be commonly found in barrels, mugs and chests in Dwarven structures, like Dwarven Towers and Dwarven Houses, as well as their Blue Mountains counterparts and Blue Mountains Strongholds. It is also sold by Blue Mountains Merchants.
Effects
Dwarven Tonic gives the player the Night Vision effect for a duration depending upon the potency; this duration is 1:00 for a weak Dwarf Tonic and 12:00 for a potent brew. This drink can therefore be highly useful when fighting in the permanent darkness of Utumno; torches are ineffective at lighting it up, but the eyes of the Dwarves are stronger than even Melkor's power of darkness. Dwarven Tonic will also restore some hunger points, equally depending upon the potency. Finally, unusually for magical drinks, Dwarven Tonic can also give the Nausea effect based on its alcoholicity.
