“ | In battle they wielded heavy two-handed mattocks; but each of them also had a short broad sword at his side and a roundshield slung at his back. Their beards were forked and plaited and thrust into their belts. Their caps were of iron and they were shod with iron, and their faces were grim. | ” |

Dwarf warriors make up the main fighting force of the Dwarves of Durin's Folk. These sturdy warriors are well-armed and well-armored, always eager to take the fight to the Orcs that threaten their lands. They are short but hardy, possessed of both great strength and tremendous endurance.
Dwarf Warriors are a stronger class of Dwarves who are equipped with sturdy Dwarven armour and carry various powerful weapons, as well as Shields of the Seven Stars. Do not let their size deceive you - a group of Dwarf Warriors is a force to be reckoned with! Roughly one in six Dwarves that spawn in the Iron Hills biome will be a Dwarf Warrior or Axe-thrower.
These Dwarves have 26 HP and can be hired from Dwarf Commanders for 30 coins, provided your Durin's Folk alignment is +250 or higher and you're pledged to either Durin's Folk or the Blue Mountains.
Dwarves dislike horses but can ride boars, which are common in the cold alpine climate of the Iron Hills. Like all mounted troops, Dwarven Boar-Riders will get a boost on the range in which enemies are spotted, increasing it from 16 blocks to 24.
Dwarves have no troops with bows or crossbows. Instead, some Dwarves use throwing axes as ranged weapons. These are called Dwarf axe-throwers.
Spawning[]
Dwarf Warriors spawn naturally in the Iron Hills and Erebor, as well as Durin's Folk invasions, which only occur in the Grey Mountains. They can also spawn in any place conquered by Durin's Folk players. They are the most common in and around Dwarven Towers, where their commanders take up residence. Dwarf Boar-riders only spawn in invasions or when hired.
Behaviour[]
Like normal Dwarves, Dwarf warriors will attack any player with a negative Durin's Folk alignment. They will also attack any NPC that is an enemy of Durin's Folk, such as all Orcs.
They do not use ranged weapons, but their strength more than makes up for this. They can deal anywhere from two and half to five hearts to an unarmoured player or mob, depending on the weapon they wield.
In the renewed version only, all dwarves have some natural knockback resistance: they are only knocked back 60% relative to other entities.
Attack strength[]
The attack strength of these Dwarves depends on what they're wielding:

Speechbank[]
The Dwarves are a proud folk, and will take kindly to adventurers with an interest in smithing and a few Orc-kills under their belts. But enemies of the Khazâd should tread carefully around them, for these stout warriors are fierce fighters, and won't hesitate to attack.
Friendly
- Our women are so alike in voice and appearance that they are often mistaken for our men.
- Roaring fires! Malt beer! Ripe meat off the bone!
- You are not one of the Khazâd, Person, but you seem friendly enough.
