Mevans, the mod's creator, has stated that he has wanted to replace farm animals from the very beginning but got caught up with more important features. However, the mod has begun to introduce some of its own wild animals such as the [[Wild Boar]] and [[Woodland Elk]], and also birds and some savannah animals in the southlands of [[Near Harad]] and [[Far Harad]]. Mevans may eventually introduce Rams instead of sheep, which may be used as a mount for the dwarves. He also may add aurochs (or a similar bovine creature) to replace cows. However Mevans may decide this is relatively unimportant and wait to add it while giving us other fantastic features in the mod in the meantime.

Farm animals,

'Farm Animals' refers to the animals that spawn in vanilla Minecraft:

A Cow That Spawned In The Shire

The mobs that fall under this category are cows, pigs, sheep, and chickens. They spawn throughout Middle Earth, in most safe and populated Biomes. The place where farm animals are most commonly found is the Shire, due to its business in farming. Other Biomes will have groups of vanilla animals but much more rarely than in the Shire and other such Biomes.

Spawning

Farm Animals can spawn in almost any biome, with the exception of

MilkingCows

Cows in shire

desolate biomes such as Mordor, Angmar and the Dead Marshes. They will spawn most often in groups of three to seven. Chickens are less often in groups, where as pigs and cattle almost spawn exclusively in groups. Most biomes have these but they aren't as common as in vanilla Minecraft and spawn uncommonly enough in Eriador, the Lone-Lands and Minhiriath etc. As mentioned above the most common and consistent place for Farm mobs is in the shire were farming is a huge industry. In mountainous biomes you will most likely find groups of cattle and and sheep in up two to four per group.

Behaviour

Farm animals behaviour essentially that of any classic Minecraft mob, they wander around aimlessly doing various different things. Sheep will occasionally graze on grass and remove the grass layer from a dirt block; cows will behave similarly and when provoked will run around in circles at an alarming pace; chickens waddle around and will occasionally wander into ponds and water sources, when provoked the chicken will scamper away flapping its wings. It is important to note that when chicken are pushed or hit from a high place they will float down slowly due to their flapping wings, similarly to Swans.

What's going to happen to these Mobs in the mods future?

Mevans, the mod's creator, has stated that he has wanted to replace farm animals from the very beginning but got caught up with more important features. However, the mod has begun to introduce some of its own wild animals such as the Wild Boar and Woodland Elk, and also birds and some savannah animals in the southlands of Near Harad and Far Harad.
