The Lonely Mountain is a geographical feature that defines the small Erebor biome. It was first hinted by Mevans on Facebook and now is situated in the Erebor biome. It was added along with the Erebor biome in Public Beta 23.
The mountain is there so that players can easily build Erebor, the great dwarven city, without having to build a mountain in survival, an almost impossible task if world editing plug-ins are not available.
