Fishing

Fishing is a game mechanic that exists in the vanilla game, but has been changed in the mod.

Possible Catches[]

This table lists the items that may be fished in the mod. When using an unmodified* fishing rod, a player has a 70% chance of catching fish, a 10% chance of catching "junk", and a 20% chance of catching "treasure".
* Do note that of the LOTR mod's equipment modifiers only the common ones (affecting durability) are applicable to fishing rods.

Achievements[]

Catching a ring with a fishing rod earns you the achievement It's Our Birthday.
Catching fish with a Trident earns you the achievement Catch of the Day.

Trivia[]

The anglo-saxon ior-rune ᛡ (= letters IO) means "eel", not included in the Mod. Tolkien used those ᚱᚢᚾᛖᛋ for some texts in the initial drafts of "The Lord of the Rings", later on, he replaced them by cirth runes.
