− | Gondor traders are mannish traders of the Gondor faction. They can only be found in their respective market stalls in the marketplaces of rural villages or walled towns, but not of fort-villages. The only exceptions are the blacksmiths, who also can be found in the smithy, the bartenders, found in the tavern, and the farmers, found in barns, all three of which are sometimes also included in the settlements. |
||
+ | * |
||
− | |||
− | Only a few of those stalls (if at all) spawn in the same settlement. So you won't be able to find them all in one place, but have to travel quite some time, if you want to find a specific one. The traders were all added in 29, except for the blacksmith, who lived in his smithy long before (4). |
||
− | |||
− | The traders are different from normal Gondorians in the fact that they all have a coin in one hand and a tool of their respective business in the other. |
||
− | |||
− | ==Behaviour== |
||
− | The traders stand around in the market stall and wait for customers. They will trade for coins and exchange your money for larger or smaller variants. |
||
− | |||
− | They normally are a passive NPC's but will attack if provoked; once provoked they will attack you with the tool they are carrying. |
||
− | |||
− | ==Trading== |
||
− | The Gondor traders will trade with anyone who has positive or neutral Gondor alignment. They sell various goods according to their profession. They will buy what they need to do their job properly. The traders will only buy or sell a certain amount of items before they will stop accepting that type of goods. After this happens there is a cooldown time before they will trade this item again. |
||
− | |||
− | ==Price lists== |
||
− | Items sold - Below are tables of values for each item that the player is available to purchase from the respective trader. Use this tables to find out if your trader is giving you a good deal or not. Each trader will not have every item listed for sale. |
||
− | |||
− | Items bought - Below are tables of values for each item that the player can sell to the respective trader. Use these tables to earn more money by only selling when the prices are high. You will not be able to sell every item to every trader as not each trader will want to purchase every item listed below. Note that they only buy undamaged tools. |
||
− | |||
− | ==Speech Bank== |
||
− | All Gondor traders, except for the Bartender, Blacksmith and Farmer, have the same speech bank. These traders talk about their stall and encourage you to sell and buy from them, provided you have the proper alignment. |

Gondor Bartender
Bartenders are easily recognizable by the checkered apron they don and the empty mug in their hand. Unlike most of the traders, which are found in their respective stalls, these spawn behind the counter in taverns, making them the only trader that will most likely spawn in any one village, as most of them have at least one tavern. They sell various drinks and buy drinking ingredients and utilities.

- Welcome to The Hearty Minstrel.
- Welcome to The Hearty Minstrel, Person!
- Are you weary from travelling? We have lodgings upstairs.
- Hungry? Thirsty? What'll it be, Person?
- Welcome to the finest tavern in all of Gondor!
- You look like a weary traveller. Go on, Person, buy a drink.
- Welcome to The Hearty Minstrel! You won't find company quite as good anywhere else, that's for sure.
- Have we met before, Person?
- Go on. Have a drink!
- My patrons say this is the best tavern in all of Gondor. And you know what, Person? They're quite right!
- Don't just stand there, Person, get yourself a drink!
- My patrons are some of the most good-natured fellows you'll ever meet. Isn't that right, friends? Now how about some more to drink?
- This place isn't called The Hearty Minstrel for nothing, Person.
- We have rooms upstairs, if you're looking for a place to stay.
- Are you new to these parts, Person? You should get to know my patrons. They can be interesting fellows.
- Don't just stand around, Person. Go and talk to people!
- I've seen some things, Person.
- If I were in your position, I'd buy myself a drink.
- Those Southrons are nasty folk. You shouldn't talk too loudly around them, Person.
- You'll be wanting something to drink, I gather.
- I could drink even a Swan Knight under the table if I had to.
- When the atmosphere's as merry as this, what does it matter if the drink's a little stale?
- Come on, Person. Drink up! Or are you no better than those prissy golden-haired horselords?
- The only brew for the brave and true... comes from The Hearty Minstrel!
- Those Northmen can keep their fancy wines and bread, for all I care. There's nothing quite so refreshing as a warm Gondorian ale.
- You again, Person?
- No livestock! No Orcs! And absolutely no Southrons!
- I once had a lad come in here trying to tell me my tavern wasn't real, and we were no more than ghosts in the dream of some old scholar. The poor fellow was quite drunk, Person. Quite drunk indeed.
- Don't forget to close the door on your way out, Person.
Hostile
- I would not serve you if my livelihood depended on it!
- Get out, Person!
- Get out! We do not serve the likes of you in here!
- We will not suffer your like in Gondor, Person!
- You are unworthy of the stalest mead!
- You may fill your belly elsewhere, Person, but not in my tavern!
- You're not welcome here at The Hearty Minstrel!
- Leave now, you traitorous villain!
- Turn your back on me, you cur!
- The Hearty Minstrel does not cater to the likes of you!
- Turn and leave, Person, lest I cast you out myself.
- You wouldn't be fit for a spoiled cut of meat.
- You are a stain on the honour of my tavern, Person.
- I shan't be serving you anything!
- We don't serve ne'er-do-wells like you. Not here!
- Get out of my tavern, you good-for-nothing rascal!
- You're a nasty piece of work, you are, Person. No ale for you.
- We don't serve ruffians like you in here.
- No scoundrels in here, Person. Try another tavern!
Gondor Blacksmith
The blacksmith is the only Gondor trader that can be found either in the market stall or wandering around in their smithy. They are easily recognizable by their powerful blacksmith hammer, which they also use to defend themselves when attacked.
To trade with the blacksmith, your Gondor alignment must be at a level of +50 or higher. Blacksmiths of Gondor sell Gondorian armour and weapons, among other things.
They will also buy from you the raw materials needed for their craft, which are mainly metal ingots, as well as sticks and coal. The more valuable the metal is, the more coins you will receive.
If you want to add modifiers to your equipment, but don't want to use up your metal when doing so, these blacksmiths will happily smith items for you for a small fee.
Upon trading with a Blacksmith of Gondor, the player earns the achievement "Blacksmith's Apprentice"

“ | The townlands were rich, with wide tilth and many orchards, and homesteads there were with oast and garner, fold and byre, and many rills rippling through the green from the highlands down to Anduin. | ” |
