Gunpowder is an item from vanilla Minecraft that is used in the Lord of the Rings Mod.
Obtaining[]
In vanilla, gunpowder is most easily obtained as a drop from creepers. But because there aren't any creepers in Middle-earth, there is another way to make gunpowder.
To make it, all you need to do is find some nitre ore and sulfur ore, along with some charcoal (regular coal will not work) and combine them on a vanilla crafting table or even in your 2x2 crafting grid (shapeless recipe). Gunpowder can also be found in chests in Mordor structures. You also can use one termite to give you two gunpowder.
Uses[]
Once you've made your gunpowder, you'll need to combine it with some Orc Steel ingots on the Morgul crafting table in order to make a bomb. This bomb can then be dropped and lit with an Orc torch, it can be upgraded to a stronger bomb with more gunpowder and Orc steel, or it can be combined with a bucket of lava to make a firebomb.
Since Public Beta 31, gunpowder is also used to craft Rhûnic fire-pots and Khamûl's Fire on a Rhûnic crafting table.
If you're not an evil player, then there are only a few (two) uses of gunpowder (at present). These two uses are to make dalish cracker, or to make TNT, the same way you make TNT in vanilla.
