The Half-trolls are a race of Far Haradrim from Far Harad that were added in Public Beta 22. They spawn in the Perdorogwaith biome.
Half-trolls are a little-known-of race that came from Far Harad. They once were an experiment of Sauron, created as an early experiment in the Second Age to make soldiers with troll-like strength yet resistance to the sun, an experiment that was considered a failure. It is unknown if they are truly trolls crossed with humans, and they remember not themselves.
Half-trolls have a warrior variant called Half-troll Warrior; these wear Half-troll armour. There are also Half-troll Scavengers, whom you can trade with, and Half-troll Warlords, whom you can hire units from.
Lore[]
Half-trolls are hardy warriors and great swordsmen. They were loyal to Sauron like all of the other Haradrim. They initially were an experiment on the part of Sauron, an experiment that was abandoned in the mid Second Age. Over thousands of years the Half-Trolls slowly multiplied and came into conflict with the other Haradrim tribes. Now they are united with them in an uneasy alliance, as Sauron calls all his former subjects to him to destroy the Free Peoples.
The Half-trolls of the mod are presumably a crossbreed between trolls and either orcs, Men or both.
Appearance[]
Unlike most NPCs, Half-trolls are slightly taller than the player, standing at a height of about two and a half blocks. They make grunting sounds, similar to a vanilla pig.
They appear monstrous, with an unhealthy shade of skin, tusks sprouting from their mouths, and dead-set eyes.
Behaviour[]
Half-trolls wander the biome of Perdorogwaith and live in Half-troll houses.
Half-trolls will attack any good-aligned factions (Hobbits, Gondorians, Wood-elves, etc.) and no evil-aligned factions (Orcs, Dunlendings, Mirkwood spiders, etc.). The only exception are mobs allied with Utumno; Half-trolls will attack such creatures. Half-trolls will only attack players if they have a negative Half-troll alignment.
Hiring[]
These powerful units can be yours to command with a Half-troll alignment of +200 and 30 silver coins. Many people favour them as they have strong armour health and attack and they beat most mobs in one on one fights!
