The Harad Mountains are an uninhabited mountain range that arcs across the western half of Haradwaith, mostly in Far Harad. Trees are surprisingly common here, as are occasional patches of grass and flowers in the valleys, but the mountains themselves are mostly bare and rocky, save for a few lonely shrubs. Above a certain height, snow can accumulate on the mountains, although this phenomenon is rather rare.
This mountain range is also known as the Grey Mountains, and was one of the original four mountain ranges shaped by the Valar. This is not to be confused with the Grey Mountains in the north, which are a remnant of the Iron Mountains.
- Light Forest - A lightly forested version of the biome.
- Forest - A more heavily-forested version of the biome.
No structures can be found here.
There are no NPCs here, and animals aren't all that common, aside from dik-diks.
The mountains themselves are mostly bare stone, but shrubs, stunted desert oaks, Mango, and acacia trees may be found on some of the mountainsides. There are valleys between the mountains where trees, grass and tropical vegetation unique to Far Harad can often be found growing, which are fairly common.
