Isengard Snaga are lesser Orcs of the Isengard faction. They are almost identical to Gundabad Orcs, having the same amount of health and the same habit of wearing varied armour instead of complete armour sets. The only main difference is where they spawn, and the fact that they may come equipped with Uruk equipment in place of Gundabad orcs' chance to wear Gundabad Uruk, Mordor, and Angmar equipment.
Etymology[]
The word Snaga, from the Black Speech, refers to lesser 'slave' Orcs, in contrast to larger and stronger Uruks specifically bred for battle.
Spawning[]
Isengard Snaga are the least powerful unit of the Isengard faction, and they are also less common than their stronger Uruk brethren, except perhaps in Nan Curunír. They spawn very commonly there both day and night, alongside Uruks and their Dunlending allies. They also spawn in Rohan and Adornland during the night, but only as Warg riders (never as foot-soldiers), and in the Uruk Highlands, day and night, but again only as Warg riders or guarding Warg pits. Finally, Snaga also spawn in Isengard Invasions, both as Warg riders and foot-soldiers. They do not spawn in Fangorn Wasteland.
Equipment[]
Isengard Snaga can be found using various scavenged weapons, tools, and armour. Possible armour they may wear and equipment groups they can use are listed below:

Behaviour[]
Similarly to other Orcs, Snaga will gain slowness and weakness effects in direct sunlight. Judging by base stats, they are the weakest Orcs in the game, alongside Gundabad Orcs. However, judging by statistics, Snaga are the weaker of the two, as their armor choices have worse stats on average than those of Gundabad.
These Orcs will attack any player possessing negative alignment with the Isengard faction, as well as any other units of opposing factions. Similarly to other Orcs, Snaga can also become involved in skirmishes, in which they randomly fight amongst themselves. Being a part of the Isengard faction, Snaga are neutral with Orcs of other evil factions, meaning that they can easily get into fights with them if they hit each other by accident while attacking a mutual enemy. This can work heavily against them in a multi-faction good vs. evil battle.
Isengard Snaga will also flee from you if you move toward them when your Isengard alignment is -500 or lower. However, they shall proceed to attack the player if they are hit. They will also try and stab a player whose back is turned to them, and then run away if the player looks at them or chases them. They are often quite rude in their speech, even to allies, similarly to others of Orc kind.
Hiring[]
Isengard Snaga can be your minions from the starting price of twenty silver coins and require positive one-hundred fifty alignment to be hired from an Uruk chieftain. Like all hireable mobs, they become cheaper as the player's alignment with the faction increases.
Advantages | Disadvantages |
---|---|
Cheap | More expensive but on average weaker than their counterpart, Gundabad Orcs |
Can be mounted on Wargs | Weapons vary greatly, thus their attack strength also varies, though on average it is weak |
Can be hired in Nan Curunír, which is not too far away from the Shire | Statistically the worst armour stats of any Orc type, though this can vary |
Because of cheapness, can be hired in mass amounts, which can be very effective | Weakened in daylight |
Can randomly drink Orc Draught which gives them a strength and speed boost | Low health |
They are hated by many, and friendly with only two factions. Thus, they can easily get overrun in larger multi-faction battles. |
Drops[]
When killed, Isengard Snaga will commonly drop Orc bones and Rotten flesh. On rarer occasions, they may drop a piece of their armour or equipment or random supplies that they happened to be carrying.
Drop | Rarity | Quantity | Image |
---|---|---|---|
Rotten Flesh | Common | 1-2 | |
Orc Bone | Common | 1 | |
