Ithilien ranger hideouts are a type of structure added in Public Beta 22. They only spawn in Ithilien and are located underground. It is not recommended that evil players attempt to attack these structures as they are full of rangers and they will be more than happy to make a human pincushion out of you.

Exterior

The entrance of the hideout is usually difficult to spot.

As its name would suggest, the Ithilien ranger hideout is very discreet and difficult for the player to find. The only sign of the hideout from the exterior will be a hole in the ground, often located next to an oak tree, or a corner of the roof peaking out of a hill. When you listen closely, perhaps you'll hear the rangers walking around underground and locate the hideout this way.

If the player examines it, they will discover a ladder leading underground to a medium sized chamber.

Interior

The hideout is primarily composed of smooth stone with some lebethron wood planks encircling the room. Thatch flooring is found in patches on the ground and four regular torches provide illumination.

Since this is a hideout and not a residential home, the living conditions here are tolerable but far from luxurious. Four straw beds are provided for those needing rest. There is also a vanilla crafting table, a Gondorian crafting table, and a furnace.

One side of the room is a self-serve ale station. Four barrels of varying amounts and potency of ale can be found here. There is also a small casket containing empty mugs, or if the player is lucky, more ale!

The other casket in the hideout contains useful items for rangers to have, such as flint and steel, Gondorian equipment, Gondorian bows, Gondorian armour, apples, arrows, silver coins, etc.

Minimal decorations include four Gondorian banners (one on each wall) and two armour stands, each displaying a full set of armour.

Hiring

The hideout houses several Rangers of Ithilien and their captain who will let you hire units, provided you have enough silver coins and a high enough alignment with Gondor.

The Rangers within this hideout, including the captain, will gradually respawn over time if the rangers are slain or displaced.
