Leather hats are clothing items worn by bounders, orcharders, farmers, and occasionally bandits and oddment collectors. They can also be worn by the player in place of a helmet. The hats are mainly for decoration and provide no protection. Like all clothing items, they can be placed on armour stands.
If you feel like being creative, it is also possible to dye the hats and place feathers on them (which can also be dyed). Every colour is applicable to both the hat and feather.
Crafting[]
Leather hats can be crafted on the normal crafting table using four leather pieces.
Decorating[]
Below are crafting recipes to dye a hat, feather a hat, and dye a feather. Colourful hats can then be made by combining a dyed hat and dyed feather on a crafting table. Both regular feathers and swan feathers can be used for this process. All three recipes are shapeless.
Item | Recipe | Materials |
---|---|---|
Dyed leather hat | Leather hat and any dye | |
Feathered leather hat | Leather hat and feather or swan feather | |
Dyed feather | Feather or swan feather and any dye |
Undyeing[]
As of Public Beta 28, leather hats can be undyed using a cauldron. See the page on undyeing for more information on this.
