I know your priding your mod on "unique code" but if your straight up canceling ideas just because someone else can do it your getting nowhere barring mechanics like this is going to make your plams for stuff like mumakil ships siege engines or anything drastic like that 100% impossible quite likely in the mathematicaly/statistical format as well as practical due to the unique code doctrine being impossible to code say mumak because multiple riders is already a flans mod thing etc. think about it if the wow dev team insisted on writing using there own launguage but blacklistes skyboxes because flying similators already did that there would be no flying mounts in that additionally trying to reinvent the wheel with no wood means that submods would statistically speaking be the only way left to add 75% of the planned features UNLESS mevans becomes open to new ideas and reasonable gameplay development im not trying to insult his coding skills or anything im trying to help more than anything else but if hes not willing to take it thats his choice and his self defeat of the mod also i get it its your "personal project" but keep in mind thats many thousands of fans of a game you created and released your throwing under the bus if you abandon the mod and even more so if upon abandoning it dont let the fans finish it
As you cam see the underlying problems are many of the hallmark planned features are inherently contradictory to using 100% unique code. And this without a paradigm shift would be literally impossible for that doctrinal reason
When the mod runs, it will create a copy of all current language files (plus yet untranslated keys) in mods/LOTR_Updated_Lang_Files (or something similar, can't clearly remember the name of the folder). Grab the translation you want to work on (or grab the English file and rename it if your language isn't there), move it somewhere else (like, on your Desktop) and edit it. When you are done, send it to Mevans (ideally over Facebook I think, as he seems to be most active there).

Unfortunately, most if not all of the people on this forum are not part of the mod development team. Mevans spearheads the entire thing on his own, and has to deal with college finals and such. It is, indeed, taking a while for the next update to be released. We just have to be patient and given Mevans the time he needs.
The mod is still in development, just slowly. There is no projected release date for the next update, as release dates usually come when the update is nearing completion. At the current time, the update is still in its early stages, so I wouldn't get excited too much, as it could easily take until the end of the year (or more).

I have recently started exploring creation of Minecraft animations, and was wondering if it was okay to use lotr mod assets for animations. Thanks,

Although, I admit, this is more of a notification, since I will still create lotr mod animations even if I don't get a response. Good day, Mevans. I would like to suggest some translation additions, if it is not impossible.
The thing is that the russian community had made translations for dialogues, quests, names of mobs and etc. So we usually make our own version of mod, in which we replace english .txt files by russian.
My suggestion is: to add this translations into the mod and make them enable-by-click in "Languages" minecraft menu, as simple .lang file.
I just want to say i like your mod a lot and i support the Lotr Mc mod and Tolkien is one of my most favorite writers in the world. The lotr mod is fun to use to explore/adventure/battle in my RPG series.
