  • Why did you delete my resource packs?

      Loading editor
    • I didn't try to, but it can't be listed there anyway. The BFME sound effects are copyrighted, so it's illegal to republish them. And we can't publish copyright-infringing content on this wiki.

    • But EA seems to have lost their rights to LOTR? You can't even buy this game anywhere.

  • Hello,

Can you please explain to me how i can make a page for my resource pack? btw I saw you edited the resource pack page. thank you for that because i had no idea how to make it look good.

    Thank you

    • Hi,

All you have to do to create a resource pack page is create a new wiki page and name it Resource Packs/[Pack Name]. For example, mine is Resource Packs/Immersion.

However, I don't think your pack necessarily warrants its own page, since it's already completed and doesn't add very many textures. Dedicated resource pack pages are generally meant for resource packs that are too big to successfully be showcased only on the resource packs page.

The dedicated page then serves to further showcase and describe the pack, as well as potentially serve as a place for conversation around the specific resource pack.

Also, resource packs that have their own pages should have official pack names (Like Tolkien and Immersion), rather than just [User]'s Resource Pack.

And you're welcome for the editing. It's just exciting to see new resource packs emerging.

You're welcome, I'm glad to help.

And yeah, I had just combined the images in GIMP (the program I use for texturing). I also added the sarngaran screenshots to it now.

  • Hello Quin,

Keltenfeuer here. I saw your new uploaded pics from your texture pack and I like very much your version of the shire pine log. Would you send me this texture?

    Thank you and kind regards

    - Keltenfeuer

    • Hey Keltenfeuer,

I only allow limited use of my textures, which is detailed in the (unreleased) readme.txt, so I would be very hesitant to give you a copy of a texture, specifically without a clear understanding of what it would be used for.

That being said, it is very likely that I will be releasing an alpha version of my pack soon, at which point you can experience the texture, and use it for whatever personal use and a select number of other uses. I hope this was helpful. Sincerely,

      - Quin

P.S. If you're interested, Immersion 1.7.10 beta_1.0 (the vanilla version, so no lotr mod textures), is currently in the process of being published on Planet Minecraft. Though the page isn't up yet, you can technically already download the pack through a link posted on my Patreon . It's actually somehow already been downloaded twice, which really confuses me, since I haven't publicly advertised my Patreon, and I only ever downloaded it once (which it didn't count).

    • Also, sorry for the late response. For some reason I was never notified about this post.

    • Also, if you want the texture for personal use, the pack is released and can be downloaded from the resource packs page, the Immersion page, or the planet minecraft Immersion page.

  • Well, hello there :D I was looking through the pictures and I found some examples of your RP. I started my own, also based on the resolution 32x32. I change random things, but one of my main problems are the wood logs. Can you tell me, how you paint them? And what is your version of the Shire crafting table? ^^

    Best Regards,

    Keltenfeuer :)

    • Well, I'm going to try to make this brief (because I wrote out a whole response and then lost everything). I use Gimp, essentially a free photoshop, to make my textures. The basic techniques are outlined in this video, and work for both gimp and photoshop.

In addition to this, particularly useful for woods, is noise, located under the filters tab. I use mostly HSV noise and saturation, and it adds a texture and color to the texture that is hard to get otherwise.

I also use a bit of colorizing when making textures similar to one I already made, generally from a grayscale image. If you need more information on this, or anything really, it isn't too hard to find with a little research.

Regarding your last question, I haven't yet textured the Shire crafting table. I hope this response is helpful. Just remember that making textures takes patience, and rarely pans out on the first try. Often even when the texture looks good in gimp, it doesn't tile well in game. I went through 6 versions of my Shire Pine log texture before I was satisfied. Best luck in your texturing endeavors,

      - QuinoaFalafel
